This week, we went to a paddefish farm in Kentucky to catch our own prehistoric fish.
Paddlefish have a long fossil record dating back to the Early Cretaceous 125 million years ago. American paddlefish are often referred to as primitive fish, or relict species, because of morphological characteristics that they retain from some of their early fossil ancestors.

American paddlefish are native to the Mississippi River basin from New York to Montana and south to the Gulf of Mexico. They have been found in several Gulf Slope drainages in medium to large rivers with long, deep sluggish pools, as well as in backwater lakes and bayous.

yep... a Katydid truly put a crane kick to your face... Remember on the phone that day, when we were discussing you coming by to do a big water change for your "pet" fish at my house? While that was draining and refilling you were going to load up my big Armatus payara, big Giraffe Nose Catfish, & all 3 different species of big Peacock Bass I have, as you were passing by during your move up there on Interstate 75 quite a while before you publicly announced you were planning on moving your facility? I told you that day that you should go ahead then & invest in a nice, easy-to-use, digital dissolved oxygen meter for your long trip??? and for any other times in the future you would be moving other's which were high end, sensitive, possibly large # of individuals, and/or very large individual fish??? Uhhhmmmm.... I told you that you were gonna always be in a situation where you would need one... and you should go ahead and buy one! lol... my friend. Told you so... you big ol' thick necked dude, you!!! Holler at me sometime my friend... talk @ you later, friend o'mine. Sincerely, Z

OMG what a huge awesome pond, I wish that was in my back yard. With some paddle fishes 😍. Also speaking about throwing fish, ppl wouldn't want to fish around here, even the old men, that have been fishing for 60 to 70 years chuck them all back, and if gut hooked well, poor fish😭 after watching this channel for as long as have now which is going on 3 years, I honestly do not fish that much anymore. Now I trap and net and see what cool fish I get. If they are cool enough and legal I do take them home. Treat them, and then put them in my father in laws pond, cuz I do not have one yet.
