All the males and females raise can't go in the same tank together they were getting so tore up in the predatory pond not because of the predatory fish because of males was not stop trying to rape the females they lost one of the rays too they got one that got behind one of the aqua decor backgrounds for the pond trying to hide from the Males and got stuck and died it sucks but for the most part they are healthy they put in a couple Ray tanks that are short and they're doing fine now

it can be really difficult to tell the difference between the Nile bichir and the Lapradei. one of the most popular ways people use to differentiate the two is by counting the finlets. Lapradei will typically have fifteen or under, whilst the Nile will typically have 15 or more.

If bichirs really get as big as the one in the picture I'm gonna have to donate mine someday idk yet. Idk how to tell if they are endlicheri like I ordered or if they are delhezi they are confusing while they are small hopefully I didn't get the delhezi or a mix of delhezi and endlicheri. I will figure it out when they are bigger in a couple months I guess but I want to try to breed them so trying to get male and female of same types of fish.

Do you guys always get fish that are wild caught or are some from farms, how does it work. Asking because of the conversation you guys had about the +River Puffers. I know I'd feel terrible if fish were taken out of natural habitats and shipped only to die during shipping. Although you guys do a great job of getting them out and into clean water. I hope that didn't sound to Intrusive. I do enjoy your channel very much and I know it's business but I see how much you care your animals I'm just wondering if it bothers you if it happens and if their are ways to avoid it ?? I don't know much about the fish import business lol

Those Bichirs are Bichir Bichir. Lapradei was an old subspecies of Bichir Bichir but is no longer recognized by the scientific community and is just Bichir Bichir. Some people will put “Lapradei” just to classify them.
