Ceadeus was the most benevolent elder dragon I can think of. The disaster it caused was inadvertent. It was passive by nature. It had a connection to life other elders didn’t in its relationship with the sea and even its symbiotic algae. Some other elders would live in barren volcanos by contrast. I found it fitting using Ceadeus’s weapons against Alatreon in the final battle. Water was the only element Alatreon had no power over, and the only one he couldn’t become resistant to. It was like using the strength of the gentle giant of the sea to bring order back to nature by quelling the raging volcano that was Alatreon.

@@Pascll Its the closest thing to a sea god in the franchise, that we are aware of ofc. It comes from the kinds of depths abyssal lagi does actually a fair bit deeper, probably.. There obviously way more living at those depths, but none come to the surface.

The coolest thing is how much Ceadeus and its problem are rooted in reality. There are many Species of Goats or other animals whos Horns can grow to big so that it hurts itself. Normaly thats hurtful and even lethal for the animals but it doesnt cause much enviromental damage due to the animals small size. Once u take this problem to the size of a Whale it becomes a literally much bigger problem. The entire battle and conclusion have such a soft feeling to it. This is no supernatural mega thread, this is a gentle gigant in pain and u are here to help him. As much as i like the later MH Games, Tri was the last one that really felt like u would live in harmony with nature trying to preserve the balance.

I love the instrumentation and acoustics, it reveal conveys the sort of enormity of both the ocean and god-like appearance of Ceadeus. And the part at 0:10 where they just start stacking the voices before getting into the music properly... 95% chance of chills

No doubt, my new favorite final boss/final boss theme. This is a monster like no other, an elder sea dragon. Since when has their been an Elder Sea Dragon for a final boss?! For a boss at that matter! The theme ultimately fitting for the true King of the Sea. If I see a top 10 best final boss in gaming histroy with the Ceadeus as #1, I will instantly favorite it and subscribe to that person. Who sees the Ceadeus as much as an epic boss as I do.

Esta cancion tiene un peso terrible sobre mi, hay algo en ella que hace que sienta un escalofrio en mi espalda y lagrimas empiecen a brotar. Talvez es el recuerdo de cuando la escuche por primera vez, luego de farmear durante dias enteros para conseguir una armadura decente porque el Ceadeus me daba genuino MIEDO. Recuerdo dias en la que cargaba la 3ds y jugaba hasta quedarme sin bateria, solo farmeando con la esperanza de poder sentirme preparado para plantarle cara a esta bestia legendaria. Las sensaciones la recuerdo tan vividamente como el dia que ocurrio; el darle aceptar a la mision, meterme al agua, avanzar en esta, llegar a la parte de la pelea y escuchar esos tambores tan agresivos y despiadados salir por el pequeño parlante de la consola que mis manos tapaban, ya que la estaba agarrando con fuerza porque me temblaban de la emocion. Fue un sentimiento inmediato: Estoy peleando contra un dios. Esto ya no es un wyvern bruto, un wyvern volador o el pequeño Lagiacrus, monstruo insignia del juego. Estoy luchando, con solo una espada, contra el DUEÑO del oceano, un dragon anciano capaz de crear terremotos con solo golpear sus cuernos. Las "liricas", si se pueden llamar asi, no ayudan a aliviar esta sensacion, ya que te hacen sentir como si la misma fuerza del mar te fuera a aplastar apenas bajes la guardia (estas estan en wyveriano, un idioma inventado para el propio monster hunter, asi que casi se sienten como si fuera un rezo del pueblo hacia el Ceadeus). Lo mas gracioso es que luego de matarlo por primera vez, me obsesione con esa pelea. Lo farmee tanto que consegui armarme completamente para lo que se venia despues (literalmente, aunque este sea el jefe final del juego, solo es un 1/6 del mismo) y, sin exagerar, hay miles de peleas mas dificiles que esta. Incluso ahora que he jugado el MHW y el MHR puedo decir que el Ceadeus, entre todos los dragones ancianos, es uno de los mas debiles. Pero el sentimiento que tuve yo al luchar contra el en aquel momento no se repitio nunca, ni con los monstruos mas dificiles de la saga. Rezo por el dia que CAPCOM decida, nuevamente, meter el combate acuatico y regresarle al Ceadeus la gloria que se merece por ser el Rey del oceano

oh dios entiendo tu emoción, cuando me toco enfrentármelo me arme con una armadura de lagiacrus ya que tenia una mejora de nadar mas rápido, tras eso y cazar una y otra vez en el volcán solo pa farmear rathalos, minando me encontré mi primera arma oxidada, la gran espada que parecía arañada por un dragón y que aun tenia marcas al rojo vivo, si algo recordaba en ese entonces por mi hermano es que la mayoría de dragones ancianos son débiles al elemento dragón por lo que me la lleve, equipado con drogas demoniacas y piel armadura plus ambas, a chacha con la mascara para el oxigeno, bolsas de oxigeno y las pociones antiguas. en el combate de camino note que le dolía si le daba en la barba hasta que se la corte, y ya en la etapa final ufff, la música te da el aire de pelear contra un dios, se que muchos monstruos tienen su tema pero esos suenan amenazantes, como que sabes que ellos serán un peligro para la sociedad si no los matas, ceadeus no, peleas contra un dios hasta por así decirlo benevolente que por una malformación un cuerno hace que el nade mal y se lo quiere quitar provocando los terremotos , también fue mi primera vez usando el matadragones y las ballestas montadas, la sensación de poder que estas dan era increíble, los ataques si bien eran lentos pegaban duro y si no me cuidaba me podría desmallar (en su momento pensé que me mataría y que no tendría la oportunidad de volver a enfrentarlo)

***** It's been a while and, playing as a g-rank MH3U guy, I've killed almost 20 Goldbeard Ceadeus looking for a Dark Dragongem (none, still), a lot of times with the Dragonator because of its sheer damage. The only issue is luring it in front of the trap.

As shown in the ending cutscene, you canonically only repelled it while the subsequent optional hunt is pretty much non-canon and only exist for gameplay purpose

Started playing 3u recently and I legit get upset by this song because I killed big C 7 times (14 quests) to get 3 horn items , and even though carve chance from the broken horn is 53% according to kiranico it just wouldn't drop for me, gotta love mh rng

You can fight him offline right away, all online quests are available in Solo mode at the port.

personally I use the spear lightning Lagia I headed straight for his beard, it is easily destroyed. Then I go over and then I destroyed his back and tail. Finally when I reach the last area I just had to touch it once it loses its horn, when he gets angry he leave to go to the dragonator dragonator it moves into position shot dragonator then I charge it I give some shot and after he dies here is the 14/15min ceadeus died.

@paullewis560 wouldnt he flinch at some point or just attack to break the glitch? I know that the spear charge isnt very powerful compared to its normal attacks. Are you using a high ranked lance? I prefer GS personally although havent come anywhere near 7min :S

Ah well I may have miss phrases that. The Ceadaus is the boss on single player Jhen is the boss for Mh30 online And the Alteron is the boss for Mh50 online, all the sweet items come from Mh31+. All there fights are set up in a unique way that makes them epic and apart to normal monsters. It must be an elder dragon thing :P

@bookercreator Its the final boss of the single player mode. There is actually 3 final bosses for each mode of play. This one is rather easy, it just a big pinata, the hardest part of this fight is keeping your weapon sharp haha.
