While definitely not the first ever Elder Dragon I ever faced (That belongs to Lao-Shan from the ps2 days) the Ceadeus is still my favorite Elder dragon fight in all of Monster Hunter to this day, this theme still sticks with me even after all these years later.

This song illustrates the moment perfectly. You had to slay many beasts just to even approach it, and as you swim you watch it move, so serene yet such power. Even as you take the first strikes, it continues to swim, slowly, barely an occasional shrug as you unleash all you fury to even scratch it. It doesn't care, it doesn't even respond, it might not even know you're there. You are waging war on the sea itself.

@@leboi4174 They're the best Capcom ever made this far. New alatreon is just old one remixed (badly according to me) Fatalis brand new theme...Sucks. Zorah magdaros...does it have a soundtrack ? (very not memorable...) Xeno jiiva...Welp, nope. Safi'Jiiva...Maybe not that bad, but there's something missing...A bit of fear. AM I FIGHTING THE F**KING RED BLACK DRAGON OR NOT ?! Kulve taroth is just...Well, it's not bad either, but it's not incredible. Just as for zinogre, the theme fit well to the monster and that's it. (Oh wait, someone tells me I forgot about shara ishvalda...In the trash can with the others.)

People shit on the underwater mechanics, and rightly so, because they were pretty bad. But making Ceadeus a slower-paced fight with music like this was the perfect choice. Imagine if the final boss was smaller and fast. That would have been a terrible way to end the game. This was the only way to end the game, and they couldn't have done it any better.

Yes, I get that "Oh my god that dragon is huuuuuge" feeling because of that aspect in world. Big monster tend to either be way too fast (like Safi'jiiva or Shara Ishvalda) or they're just passive (Zorah magdaros cannot kill you unless you hug his magma hearts.). We definitly need a slow, not reacting but yet powerful with every mouvement they make like lifting a leg (that give me Jhen Morhan vibes...)

Even all these years after losing my eyesight I can still vividly recall my very first monster Hunter three ultimate. This magnificent OST was burned into my ears as my eyes took in the beauty of my very first elder dragon. Even now I can still picture that magnificent beard and that gigantic horn.

I started with MH3U, and this was the point at which I was absolutely blown away. When I started the quest, I was expecting something similar to the Lagiacrus fight, but slightly harder. But when I started, I was blown away by this absolutely amazing music, and the Ceadeus was the biggest thing I’ve fought at that point, and it made me feel more badass than any other game I’ve played up until that point. This was the moment Skyrim became my 2nd favorite game (it’s a lot lower now) and MH3U became my favorite game. I wasn’t expecting anywhere *NEAR* this much badassery! *ESPECIALLY* for a 3DS game! This is what made me a diehard Monster Hunter fan, and fighing the Jhen Mohran and exacting my revenge on that *MENACE* Deviljho, further solidified that!

Yes, you can kill it, but it's going to take a very long time and you are going to need very powerful equipment. Monster Hunters are known for being ridiculously powerful. It is also a Monster. As your job title says, it is your job to take it down. Even god-like monsters are not immortal.

To encounter a beast such as Ceadeus would be nothing short of sublime, and this song embodies that feeling. I'd want to spend as long as I could just swimming alongside Ceadeus if I met one in real life, admiring it. But unfortunately, it has to be dealt with. Glad that it ends on a happier note, in that both parties ultimately get what they want after breaking Ceadeus' horn - the elder dragon doesn't need to grind it down, and the people of Moga are saved from the quakes that grinding causes. The beard will (hopefully) grow back, and the horn will remain a bearable length for many years.

3U was my first game and I liked it a lot even though I never got into the water combat. Still though, Ceadeus (as stressful as it could be for an inexperienced player) was great and I'm glad this was my first step into the MH franchise. When I got to 4U I ALMOST finished it haha (I was stuck optimizing stuff for fun) and now in GU I'm going for a 100% completion (or close) before Rise comes out.
