Bonus Tip! Whenever you bring a Palico with you on a quest, your secondary actions bar (used with the D-Pad) gains the "Use The Felvine!" command. Using it will have your Hunter throw down what is basically a little catnip bomb, which not only heals your Palicos but makes them more likely to use their special tools for a while. The Felvine will recharge itself over time.

This game always scared me because it seems so incredibly daunting with such a steep learning curve. Finally picked it up a couple of days ago and am really happy to find out that it's not nearly as bad as I thought it'd be. There is an almost overwhelming amount of things to learn and keep track of in the game...but the content/monsters starting out (I'm only on rank 3 quests) are challenging without being overly difficult. I'm finding that I'm learning a tiny bit just about every new quest I go on and am slowly picking things up as I go. And it's all so incredibly rewarding. Each time I learn a new way to use my weapon, or a new thing I can do in town...it just feels awesome! I've got a LONG ways to go, but I have a feeling I'm greatly going to enjoy the learning curve of this game. I feel like so far, the curve is just about spot on. Not too difficult and very rewarding!

In case you are new to monster hunter rise, the secret area in the training spot is showing a picture indicating all apex monsters in rise. The cool fact is that some apexes weren't revealed yet when rise came out but some of us already knew them because of this little secret picture in the wall

If you don't hide the monster icons in the top right of the screen, it also shows the capture state up there below the icon when they're capturable. I personally find this much easier to see in the heat of combat than the mini map icon, as it's a static solid icon, not a faded pulsing one layered over many other icons on the map.

The utility of evade extender in this game can not be overstated. To skip that end quest cutscene, you can also stand on an object that's destroyable, like those rock piles or withered huts in the Ruins. The three structures in the arena also do this. Honestly, I'm surprised not very many people seem to point that out.

while choosing a weapon is based on preference, imo the best beginner weapon to learn all combat-related gameplay is Sword and Shield. It has the right tools to teach you everything. It's fast so it has minimal amount of commitment per attack. Short reach teaches you how to manage distance while having a shield reduces the punishment if you make a mistake. It also has both (3 if you consider aerial/mounting) damage types, so you could learn where to hit a monster and with what. Plus, it's also a powerful weapon once you've become accustomed to it. I'm not saying everyone SHOULD start with SnS, you can decide for your own, but if you're new to the genre, try the swiss hunting knife
@AlexFukuApril2 жыл бұрын
Idk why none of these beginner guides tell yall this but tranq the monsters FIRST then trap them. Sometimes you might be too far from the trap or other monsters might get in the way of you tranquilizing the target while they're in the trap then they break out. If you tranq them first then thrown down a trap, the second they go in it theyre immediately captured

You forgot to add the change to raw and elemental that now due to being able to change skills weapons like the great sword can now use elemental versions much more effective due to changing skills often come in three flavours. Multi hitting but low damage (Benefits Elemental damage) Low hitting but big damage (Benefits Raw damage) Mixture (Naturally what you start with) This was designed to deal with the issue in world/iceborne that some weapons for example the great sword being locked into raw damage rendering almost all elemental weapons as being a nurf compared to just taking a raw damage weapon.

Luckily I found out where the weapon testing area is via google. I know at least the first thing you should really do is go and play with the weapons, and work out what you want to use first. I was a Hammer main in world, but I fancy trying out the switch axe first this time, or maybe even just the longsword... Kinsect blade looks awesome though, reminds me of Toukiden combat a lot, as a lot of that is verticality and flying through the air and stuff.
