Some are saying that the hammer putting you on your butt is worse than being launched. If you don't have I frames, when down like that, then you're just gonna get hit. Instead of being in the air and potentially safely above an attack/in a position to do a mounting attack. I respect the idea but question the execution. The shockproof point is possible, they may also have both skills but we'll have to see. I guess they mentioned shockproof because it's a new skill/feature from Sunbreak. They're telling us that it's back right away, not as a late patch thing.. Would not shock me if crit eye was, first 3 levels had 4 affinity and the last 1 had 8 for 20 total. Or 4 affinity 3 times and 9 affinity twice for a total of 30. Also, on the tree, we see a sleep weapon. We have not gotten confirmation of a single sleep monster yet, neither new nor returning. Bone tree branches to a sleep weapon then a water weapon after that. New early sleep monster? It branching that soon means it's an early game monster. I love that IG has aerial and how it has Rise's QoL of, without focus mode, you can do a 180 with your air dash or vaulting dance at any point in the combo. So you can stick to a monster part by hitting it with a dance, dash backwards, then move in with another dance, and repeat to stick to the same spot as best you can. I do find it odd/interesting that they said your attacks are buffed by the first 2 consecutive vaulting dances, not all 3. In Rise, it was all 3 then you do diving wyvern with that highest buff. This will influence the aerial combo paths. Do you do 3 vaulting dances into a descending thrust finisher, or 2 vaulting dances to get the buff and do descending thrust more often? A bit sad that they didn't address the claw grip for kinsect aiming, without focus mode, or letting us use toggle for focus mode on IG without swapping all the melee weapons over to it. Since IG controls more like a gunner weapon in some ways. I like that we got an offset on IG but I question what was the original reasoning for not having it? They must have had a reason to make it the only one without any of those Wilds gimmicks; perfect dodge/block or offset. Lance is cured of its affliction. Minor stuff first. Charge counter working like an iai stance from LS is a bit odd. Perfect guard getting more follow ups is nice. I hated the shield bash that required you to basically be kissing the monster for it to hit. It seemed counter productive to not have a thrust with that since part of lance is its reach. Said cure/the best feature here is not talked about and you can almost miss it. The fluidity of pokes to blocking is back. 9:48 See that, he does high thrust and then perfect blocks the bite attack, it's way quicker than the beta was. Him countering the tail move later also leads into a new variation of leaping thrust. In World/Rise you did this by guard dashing (light attack + block) and following up with a light attack to do those 3 quick pokes. This is a counter follow up, that has you jump back then advance into that same move. It's a power guard follow up now. SA, I'm hopeful but the video is kind of vague. In the beta it felt the most fun SA has been, for me. I hope full release isn't just always the best DPS so spam only this. I want it to be strong, as a more damaging use of amped state, where ZSD is more defensive with more damage mitigation at the cost of some damage. Give both of them their niche so using amped for either one is a meaningful choice. I trust them to amp sword damage a bit to make it more compedative with those 2 options.

I'm wondering if the sleep is from Hypnocatrice. His main habitat in Freedom Unite is the forest.
@jockpackage17708 күн бұрын
@@JeannieLove That's a bit of a stretch. It's possible but the safer bet is a new monster. There aren't that many sleep monsters, fewer that actually have it as their main element. A fair few have it as a secondary and weapons use the primary element. Examples are like; basarios, gravios, uragaan, and blessioth. There's like 5 or less that use sleep and have sleep weapons and one that uses poison and sleep but weapons have sleep. Fleshing out the roster of sleep monsters by one or 2 newcomers would be good.

Yea IG getting its wings back is nice I was ready to adapt to the new Glaive, but its good to see a developer listen to the feedback of the players instead of the usual "We know better than you" that we usually get. Its interesting you bring up that IG didn't get a Wilds gimmick now that you've brought it up maybe a perfect midair dodge would've been SUPER unique! Lance is looking much more like an unstoppable force than it was previously capable of giving LS a run for its money as far as being the counter weapon. I feel the same about Swaxe it looks good for sure, but without actually having it in hand to really feel the differences its kinda lost on me!

Out of all weapons, i bet no one expected IG to get an offset attack
@jockpackage17709 күн бұрын
I did. It was the only weapon without an offset or perfect dodge mechanic. Every weapon that can't guard got one, guarding weapon got perfect blocks/clashes. While GS and HBG got both a perfect block/clash and an offset. The only thing I got wrong about the IG offset was what the move was going to be. I thought it would be fun if it was something to do with the bug colliding with an attack.

This, right here, my thoughts exactly. Hammer and SA were my top picks for the beta. They were so dam fun and such an improvement over their 5th gen versions. I liked them, in 5th gen, but didn't love them yet.

I'm glad they didn't say they were getting rid of the CB AED into SAED. I Just hate the hold back plus triangle to do a regular AED with the shield charged. In world, the timing is so tight you have to mash the button. It felt easier to time in MH4.

Ah yes they might be adjusting or buffing the values for AED and SAED as it seems Savage Axe was way out in front as far as effectiveness is concerned.

I wonder if IG also got any new motion to close the distance from the monster after you launch it back with the offset

I could see it getting a special bounce upon landing it to close the gap from landing the offset. Since it’s on the descending attack from what I understand.

Yeah, we didn't see any offset follow up. I do love how we got Rise level control in the air. After any air dash or vaulting dance flurry we can do a 180, if you want, without focus mode. You can keep steering that as much as you want or do the trick of; flurry towards the head, dash away from the head, flurry towards the head, repeat more easily.

so i get what you are asking but considering a successful offset rewards the player with a powerful follow up, usually a shortcut to one of the weaon's best moves, is a different story for ig. the thing is, the offset move in particular for ig ironically IS its best move, and its not even close. like we are talking stronger than 95% of moves from every other weapon in the game. all at the release of a button, no setup, no combo routes needed, no commitment, no rooting end lag. just dodge a move and release, cancels other animations too. the only challenge from this move is hand cramps holding the button down and deciding if you want to do it again and keep spamming it or let it rip and use the new buff consuming move. there is no shortcut or advantage that could be given ig cause it already can do this move. and not only is it significantly stronger, its also a charge move which gets a special property of modifying damage, meaning end game comes and the bugs buff x charge buff x sharpness x crit x any other modifier all multiply off each other making the move even stronger than other options. so while a bummer we don't know what offset benefits it gives us, it is the only move worth doing with the weapon so it will probably be better to ignore the follow up

great video! not rushed and sloppy like other creators. Dont see why people are so sad for friendly fire. The ratio of people who coordinated attack vs trolls i bet is small. Plus, they explained it was for Gunlance wyvern fire plus Chargeblade swinging all over the place with its new moves, it was the smart decison.

I'm happy that triple extract got its buff back from the previous games and the vaulting dance is back. It was kinda dumb that they removed it completely before, its like they took 2 steps forward then 2 steps back again. I prefer they improve both aerial and ground moveset and not sacrifice one for another. Also its interesting that they gave IG an offset attack, I cant wait to try it. Now if only kinsect slash returns in Wilds somehow lol. (Kinsect slash >> helicopter 😆)
@jockpackage17709 күн бұрын
The weird thing is that they removed vaulting dance to "encourage using the new moves", really forcing them on us, but they never did that for other weapons. The worst other weapons got was nerfing moves around the new ones, not removing them entirely. IG also being the only weapon without a 6th gen gimmick, apart from focus mode. So; no offset, no perfect dodge, no perfect guard/clash (I know that last 2 don't apply here but I'm just making a point) was weird. What was their reason for leaving IG out and only giving it an offset because we asked?
@Agito5V8 күн бұрын
@jockpackage1770 That reasoning sounds...awful ngl. And now that you mentioned it, its really weird that IG didnt get any of those gimmicks before the buff. Sometimes I feel like they're not sure what to do with IG after 5th gen, its weird.

i saw a lot of comments in the main video sad about FF being effectivly removed. it's definitely a shame but i think it's important to note that the devs WANTED to keep it in, we had launching still in the beta(some weapons lost it like wyvernfire and swax rising slash just pushing you to your butt instead of flying which weren't the case in the demo booths before that) but only after was it removed as seen here. my point is to highlight that the devs are on the side of keeping it, maybe a bit too stubbornly 😅 it felt like more moves than normal were able to be interrupted instead of armoring through them, it shows just how important of a change it was to go against their wishes and nerf it. it had to be an important reason to do it. and the reality is people got kicked by discrimination of weapon choice. thats why shockproof was added in sunbreak cause kicking got so bad in jp, just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it "sucks to be them" it's important to take an L for the sake of others. ff is still not dead though, just the yeets, you still flinch next to someone. and i have a sneaking suspicion that shock proof will take up a weapon slot so learning to play nice with people you know will reward you withnmore damage overall but the option to ignore it with randoms will be there, but we'll see. overall this community blog was a W. i still think the devs are bs us on their reason for making weapon decorations but it was neat seeing more skills show up as you upgrade the weapon, Im kinda curious if we will see back loaded skills for the common stuff, 4% to 20% is cheeks when you think about what else you could use for affinity, old gen you got nothing till you hit the threshold so maybe they go that route and give us breadcrumbs then hit us with a fat amount if we stack. and one more thing, i don't know the "math" but i think the wound lock on delay for bow is a buff, if you can instantly lock on to a wound, and do a powerful shot afterwards then you can just keep doing the powerful shot over and over, if this flinches the monster each time then you get even more damage from others on it. its too soon to say but that was what im thinking will happen, like why wait for each lock on when you can just do an omega move over and over till all wounds are gone😂

That's interesting, about the Japanese side being more willing to kick people for things like weapon choice. I'd have thought that would be more so in western online culture. With noobs that just assume everyone is copying the speedruns and the like. So they wine if their glass set they copied off someone else gets them killed, from something like that happening like once or twice a hunt. I'd have guessed that Japan, with their longer history with the series, would have a player culture that's less like that than the west.

@@JeannieLove watch it again, it takes like a second per target. That's still pretty fast. You also have the advantage of doing it from range. Unlike melee weapons that have to worry about both being close enough and if their focus strike can hit high enough, for example, to hit a specific wound in some cases. Ranged weapons ignore all of that and Bow even ignores aiming with it, with how that focus strike works. This exists for 2 reasons, so bow users can't spam them as easily and so they don't break too many wounds by accident in a team. That second reason also means, if you do that in a team, it's on you.
