My theory is that this guy is gonna occupy a niche similar to Gobul. Its front claws look like they're meant for burrowing into sand (we see those Doshagumas trying to scramble out of a sand pit it presumably made), and its photophores are probably meant to trick prey into its trap when it's either dark or poor visibility by sticking its head out a bit. Going by the jaws, maybe it's an antlion-like monster?
