Odd nitpick there actually, with how much shit we have in our hands during a hunt, it's weird that when you attach the RF cannister it doesn't actually appear in your hands, it just magics onto the gun when your hand goes to attach it. Hope that's fixed later.

One small thing that's a nice quality of life improvement is at 0:42, after shooting a high recoil munition you can see the hunter starting to move pretty fast after the recoil, where in the other games you would only be able to move after the entire end lag would be over, making low and mid recoil the only safe options, it seems high will be safer even if not perfect

They really should do sth so it catches the other weapons up in terms of "coolness", versatibility and/or specialization. I'd personally focus on adding some support functions so it could be used to actually protect your allies. Maybe with a "Guard bar" (like katanas or dual blades) that slowly fills up until it gives you the ability of running/jumping in front of an ally near you to cover him for a few seconds. In this state, blocks would block anything and make the monster flinch at the same time if you sync the timinv for blocking. That would give the team an opening for counterattack and recovery. I'd also make the wielder inmune to flinching and slipping due to friendly fire. Actually I'd add sth like a defense boost for allies close to him or sth. Appart from it, I dont think it should make others flinch. And, of course, a TAUNT to make the monster target the user. Also using the "Guard bar". With the full bar it would also be nice to include little shield attacks somewhere in your combos, helping stun the enemy.

How so? The biggest difference I'm seeing is better mobility on the LBG and, contrary to other comments, a slower fire rate. The HBG was slower but could fire continuously for longer periods. Is there a massive difference I'm completely over looking?

not very optimistic for this generation of gunning they should have just given us medium bow gun if they are just going to copy mechanics from LBG to HBG and vice versus... and i think we lost sticky/cluster/wyvern ammo all together... now all the big explosive moves are special ammo like the landmines/counter mine and whatever that thing was for the HBG... so we can still use them but only as a time gated attacks of opportunity

This makes me excited to see what we're getting for Bows! Mained the Bow through all of Sunbreak... had Dodgebolt on and Spread-Up with max Constitution so I can essentially dance around monsters without taking damage. HOPEFULLY something like the dodgebolt returns...

It’s unlikely to return as the two ways we did the move (Wirebug or Aerial style) don’t seem to be supported for Wilds’ more grounded take on MH. We might see it in Portable 6 (The Sun/Rise equivalent that will drop some time after Wilds). I do absolutely adore the rapid fire backflips you used to be able to do. I’m hoping it might be a jumping attack if they bring back the wall running attacks from World.

@@LZ02-OVERTURE that’s definitely the precedent that’s been set from each Generation, though I will caution that it’s not accurate to call them the “B-Team” as there’s tons of staff overlap between games in a generation, it’s moreso that ‘Portable’ titles have different objectives and are where the MH Team as a whole gets to be more experimental and creative when it comes to mechanics and gameplay. Think of it like having two distinct mission statements even though the staff doesn’t change, it’s just a different project with different needs and goals

At the end of my time in Iceborne i had mastered 6 of the 14 weapons in this game and LBG was one of them, since it's been like 2-3 years ago my memory is a little rusty about all the moves and skills but it does look like as fun as i remember it was. they not seem to have make huge changes, just some upgrades here and there and i can't wait to try it in Wild.

I really hope the returning monsters get big glows up just like the weapons. It's clear they've put so much love and care into every element of the few we've seen thus far. The thought of seeing monsters like Agnaktor, Celtus and Celtus Queen, Najarala, Gigginox, Nibblesnarf and Gammoth with familiar, but also modernised fighting styles would be a fantastic way to accommodate stronger, more flexible weapons, whilst also giving these recently underutilised monsters the justice I know the developers dream of giving them. There's so much love and care behind every minute detail in this series, and to see them not stray from that after the insane jumps in popularity after World is something I couldn't be more thankful for. Whilst other series have been turned into safe, flashy cash cows, Monster Hunter continues to develop, refine, and expand upon its identity. We've really struck gold with this one boys. Lets all look forward to the bright future of monster hunter together, regardless of when/where we joined the fun from. Let the hunting begin (;
