Nu Udra is so far my favorite apex mostly because it's unlike anything i've ever seen in the series. For context, I came in to MonHun late (played Tri on the Wii) so taking on something wholly unique is very exciting.

More interested in the locale, maybe the ice locale has a inclemency of freezing rain and the apex is able to maintain the liquid state of it to attack with ice element, mirroring how Uth Duna semi solidifies water to form protective veils.

the apex kinda have an aquatic theming to them. Rey kinda looks like a ray, Uth is like a whale / fish, and Nu Udra is of course an octopus. An interesting observation and i’m curious if the theming will continue

The smoke effects coming of Nu Udra in the clip at the end of the video are so so cool. The trail they leave as the tentacles move around!

So, World gave us an above-ground Coral Reef, and now we have an above-ground Ocean/Hydrothermal Vent. Neat! And since this place will have all the muck and watery stuff, we could likely see it being used to bring back a bunch of unique monsters like Val Hazak, Narkarkos, and Gobul! Heck, could you imagine a turf war between Val Hazak and Nakarkos!?

I doubt there's gonna be decayed materials. In the first beta if you cut of a tail it decayed just like a slayed monster. I'd assume you can only get some of the better carves when it's still fresh and only get the basic item from a decayed part. They probably specifically mentioned it since unlike with tailcuts you'll end up with multiple tentacles across the map to keep track of

With this we can confirm that the naming scheme's of monsters found first in the Forbidden Lands are different to traditional monsters. Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra. Its like the tribal denizens have been naming them and we're just incorporating it as the monsters name.

Also, when the creators and producers of the game tell you how a name is pronounced, you pronounce it correctly every time. Nu ooodra(pronunciation), Nu Udra. (Actual spelling) not Nu Uh-dra. Lol

So far I think my favorite is nu udra but we really haven't seen all of what uth can do either. I really want to see that tidal wave attack. They're all very threatening and cool so far.

I'm guessing Nakarkos was also a same class of monster, just in a shell made of bones. Nakarkos had two head looking thing which were later revealed in the fight to be tenticles (exactly same looking as these). Basic shape of Nakarkos was of a turtle, I'm guessing other leg looking things were tenticles too and under the shell it was basically like black flame.

Nah if you look closely nakarkos is designed after a cuttlefish, while nu udra/ black flame is 100% octopus

Nu Udra might be one of my favorite Apexes. Its the weirdest thing out there i have ever faught in monster hunter franchise. I hope its armor set is going to be bad ass!! So far wilds might turn out to be the Monster Hunter game with the largest set of diverse ecosystems but also with largest set of diverse Monsters!!

The apex i like the most is Nu Udra. Everyhing about this guy (from what we've seen) is so unique and different. And we haven't seen if he changes tactics to ranged weapon users. We know real life octopi are crazy smart, so what if it picks up rocks to use as sheilds to block arrows and bullets

Nope they are set locked similar to Rise character hunts. Frontier had customizable ai hunters however they WILL get you carted.

I really didn't expect them to show Nu Udra Gameplay but I kinda like it more than seeing the next locale. It will most likely be an ice one and maybe (hoping) a fifth one for the dragon element. I loved the crystal kinda caves in World. I wonder when and what will be shown in the final trailer and also what will be the secret monster in the Beta

There are 2 Cepholopod rigs in the game files. Meaning Nu Udra isnt the only squid er will fight.

Ray Dau sadly after seeing more Apexes is the first Apex we will fight, i rather have him later down the line because he is the coolest out of the Apexes so far in my opinion. cant change it anymore but those are my thoughts.

favorite? personally feel that gunlance is kinda simple and too thin, the barrel part is also kinda ugly, and its the transform animation also looks clunky even the shield looks like those traditional wooden washing boards and the only decent looking part to me is its blade parts.
