I'm loving focus mode based on what we see so far, I do hope the "dynamic clashing" is fundamentally a quick time event, I've missed those in recent years The thing I'm really hoping for is the return of mounting the monsters to knock them over, the focus system seems like it might not though, seems like we have enough ways to knock monsters down
@glaedrludos6 ай бұрын
@@notrelatedtobacon1282I’m with you on hoping mounting is still here! I don’t think Focus will necessarily replace the mechanic (at least that’s my personal thoughts) I think if anything, it might be adjusted to reworked a little, and maybe Focus mode can be used to play into the mounting mechanic. It’s an awesome mechanic ever since it was added to the series! And people seemed to be a bit upset that Wyvern riding made mounting almost nonexistent XD (not that Wyvern riding wasn’t a sick idea! Maybe just did better on paper then in practice) but yeah, hopefully we can still Shadow of the Colossus the monsters on our hunts! XDDD

The Monster Hunter team is absolutely determined to have the most insane cooperative combat system. If there really is a way to reliably trigger the clash with a monster, it gives the GS the ability to hold the monster back so allies can escape or can cash in huge damage. I can't wait to see the potential of other weapons. Even if DB is a good weapon just for creating weak points, it would give other weapons more opportunity to exploit it.
@corvidaegudmund11866 ай бұрын
Yeah, it will be fun to see how weapon “roles” shape up during group hunts with the new system and moves. I don’t think they want to lock weapons to specific “jobs” too hard, but I could see some fun team plays coming out of this. Maybe something like light weapons specialize in making weak points, while heavier weapons like GS and the Lances are slower to get weak points, but are better able to clash lock a monster for other hunters to jump on. It sounds like they are trying to take the Iceborne softening system and improve it.

With the website saying how human culture is shaped by the ecosystem and how it looks like you're in an expedition to the Forbidden Lands, it makes me wonder. Maybe you get to help BUILD the game's main hub? Like, you need to go out and collect resources and hunt monsters needed to help construct new buildings and areas. Not gonna lie, while that's just an idea, it would be awesome if they did it! Maybe you could even help choose the "culture" design of the buildings and structures, hence the emphasis on the weather, environments, monsters, and ecosystem shaping the human culture. Again, this is more speculation on my part, but building your own hub and/or village in a Monster Hunter game would be a dream come true for me

So one thing I was thinking about is that when were being shown the guard we see that he goes into focus mode before he goes into guard. This makes me think that in order to get into guard you HAVE to be in focus mode. Then the next bit of info is that there has to be a button that puts you into focus mode, but all of the buttons are tied to something already so something will have to change. I think focus mode is gonna be R2 or whatever button guard was on pc and you have to go through focus mode to get to it because it has focus moves. Having this apply to other weapons means that dual blades will probably be completely reworked with focus and demon mode. Gunlance and lance are probably gonna have all their counters put there. And i think Longsword is finally gonna fall behind in these mechanics by having spirit slash and sheathing locked behind focus mode. (At the same time its gonna make it even more cinematic when you do cool stuff with it though so a fair tradeoff i think.) As long as lance doesnt get like 4 different useless counters and they get rid of the weird charge slap from rise then im happy.

My thoughts: I'm very curious how large monster packs will work. All the Doshaguma will presumably be categorized as Large Monsters, but I doubt you'll get many quests that are specifically asking you to bring down a subordinate and not the leader. That also makes me curious about their gear. While probably not to the same extent as the Palamute, I imagine that the Siekrets will have at least some combat ability. They seem to stay with you during combat and, given that a living breathing world is the goal of this game, it would be odd if all the hostile monsters just politely agreed to ignore the Siekret when you're not on top of it. I'm guessing the beginning of the game will be like early Iceborne. The guild doesn't have any kind of foothold in the forbidden lands, so most of our early game story quests will likely tangentially relate setting up anf building a base camp. I think one of the new locales will be a swamp, bog, or marsh. Basing that off literally nothing. Just vibes

Actually the hub being the sandship and you traveling from place to place is actually very plausible since G-rank hub in GU was an airship and also it wouldn't make much sense with the armorer literally being with you on the ship as well since if this isn't the hub then other hunters back home are obviously going to need someone to make them weapons and armor.

Also during the 'counter attack' thing, as he's running towards the knocked-back Doshaguma there's some weird white spindly things that seem to retract into the hunter's hand... I think? It could just be the slinger retracting, but that means that focus mode uses the slinger then? No, actually, maybe the 'frontier greatsword running' thing is actually triggered by the slinger and he's using the slinger to pull himself towards the monster. It's difficult to tell. It does look like he's bringing his arm back from being outstretched when he starts the run so maybe he was aiming the slinger before but it was mostly obscured by the camera angle and the hunter's body. So basically, focus mode replaces the clutch claw. The slinger can be used for some special attacks like wirebug skills?

Maybe focus mode is could work kinda like a more advanced valor stance. It’s not gonna work the same way obviously

I think we will be able to customize the seikret. During the scene when the hunter uses the flare didnt some of the helping hunters have different looking seikrets.

Anyone else notice when he rushes w th GS that there is some kind of slinger action happening? Like he attached it to the monster and used it to propel himself quickly towards it.

This is going to be soooo gooood. Can’t wait until June 7th! Monster Hunter team will talk more about it and offer clarification. Also, I love the new mount, but I definitely see ALOT of microtransaction coming with this one too.

Changing weather conditions. I'm sensing we will see plants, bugs and other collectable materials disappearing during harsh weathers. And I'm really hoping that consumables are hard to come by and we have to seriously prepare before hunts(at lest for early to mid game).

Imagine there’s a tundra map and you have to deal with blizzards or a jungle and you have to deal with rain and flooding. Or a volcanic area and you just have to deal with a straight up volcanic eruption.

So quick thought cause it just passed me but when you were on the weapons screen it had the part of typing where you are still typing there in an animation. I think that’s definitely implying that there going to be adding to it cause it’s highlighted and unnecessary otherwise. Now it could be a trick but it’s not that it’s just completely noticeable if you’re not staring at it. I only noticed cause of the cursor!!

I really hope the camera randomly zooming in during these attacks are only for the trailer and not in the actual game

Crazy hope for me is that they have 100 monsters on launch, if they are able to port over the roster from world that would be 71 large monster right out of the gate, so drop a few that may not work in the new setting and that leaves you with still needing to come up with a good selection of monsters. (19 at the lowest but likely more.) Still I hope they make this roster stacked!!

Monster hunter being full open world would be cool, but given the quest system games have always used, as well as hubs it would be VERY different

Builds are about to be a bit more tricky than in past games. I'm curious if we will be getting more combo decos like we had in world, in order to make one build work better with two weapons

I'm really curious how the weapon swapping is gonna work. If it doesn't change armor skills as well, it's gonna be a severely limited tool for later game hunts. You'd have to use weapons that have overwhelming amounts of overlap in desired skills, and i don't know that there are many options for that for most weapons. We'll see how it goes I suppose.

Big detailed maps ala WORLD. I hope so. I enjoyed Rise, but I didnt like just how big and open the maps were. I missed the hallways. Rise just felt like an empty beeline straight for the monster, (or a zigzag to grab as many birds as possible and then to the monster) It didnt have that same sense of scale and awe world did. Also, for my two cents, it really seems unlikely that they'll add a 15th weapon, they seem more focused on bringing a variety of mechanics (eg switch skills, silkbinds, hunter styles, focus mode) to all the weapons rather than adding variety by adding new weapons. Which I think is fair because 14 is already a lot.

I think you're being nitpicky about the whole windswept plains name thing. It's not like we have any concrete evidence one way or the other on if it's open or not, but the name of an area isn't an indication of its scale. Just because the windswept plains is an area doesn't mean it doesn't connect to other as of yet Unnamed areas. The continent is called the Forbidden Lands and there could be several unique locales within that that are connected. Even the sub-areas of the guiding lands had distinct names

So several things id like to mention. after losing interest in several games and just generally feeling bored, the new MH Wilds trailer dropping has reignited the Spark within to keep going, for there is a light at the end of the tunnel. second, I FREAKING CALLED IT! from watching the trailer i got the feeling that our palico would be fully voiced, the sound of a third higher pitch voice while the hunter looks at the palico was what really made me think they voiced the palico. third, to all bowgun hunters out there, when the hunter is on the mount and pulls out the bowgun and starts firing, we can see him firing a rapid shot of some variety with high recoil, BUT, that was NOT a light bowgun! that was clearly a HEAVY bowgun based on its size and that it folds out just like all the other heavies do, light bowguns of course don't fold up because they are much smaller and lighter, but in the focus mode attack we see it folded and unfolding for the attack with the exact same "shield" looking part on the right side of the bowgun when he's on the mount. this to me was a very interesting detail, perhaps we will get some more expanded bowgun customizations similar to Tri? Either way, this trailer has brought life back to the Monster Hunter Community and i am ALL here for it!
