Hate that they changed the IG, it was so much fun! I wish they just gave us a "Glavie" class that has the new moveset. If the aerial combo was too low dmg I'd rather they give it a buff instead of changing it. The flying class if you will, was a great change up from the ground melee weapons.

From my experience. It's more support oriented, but it does have some good damage. But it's important to note that it will get better as you get more songs during the full game. The same goes for basically everything. They will be better with skills.

​@@nidhoggr8193 whole point of wilds horn is that capcom has stopped advertising it as a support weapon and i think we should view it as that. I hope the songs reflect this approach too but yeah i feel like we should give feedback with the hindsight that horn buffs shouldnt hamper its ability as a solo weapon anymore.

As a hunting horn main myself I say hunting horn is in the greatest place it's ever been. The amount of team utility we can offer with aggressive combat to play off of is really high. Those echo bubbles offer all kinds of buffs. Scenario: I bring a hh to an SOS. I will use CC like traps or paralysis or KO etc to keep a monster within a space. A 30 second cool down means I'm spamming echo bubbles for myself if solo or for my allies. I'll run up to a teammate and play them the song of my people every opportunity. Odds are it helps while damaging the monster. Lure pods make you a God if/when you get the offset melody down. Most satisfying thing I've done in MHWilds is using that melody to intercept Rey Dau during his slam attack and wing drag.

It really is perfected world horn. This is what rise horn wants to be but fumbles. They wanted to make the weapon more accessible and appealing and did exactly that while not only keeping its core identity wholly intact but building upon it so much. Im so excited to see how the other horns will work too! I would try to externalize the stuff i summarized here by picking apart the design decisions but it would probably be a bit unnecessary lol

I think they will buff it in the final game, too many demo players are saying the same thing. But I think it would become too overpowered even if they give it the slightest buff.

Actually i dont think a buff to DMG is that important, i would rather have them shift the balance from Full Release to all other parts of the weapon. I play Switch Axe because i have Wild Swing, PowerAxe, MorphAttacks, Heavensward Flurry, Double Slash, Elemantal Discharge and on and on and on.... not because i want to spam 1 Move over and over again, had that when ZSD Clutch was meta, didnt like it then, dont like it now. Did I use ZSD? OC! its fun plunging my big a** Sword into the Monster and make it go BOOM! Do I want to use Full Release? HELLS YA! but I dont want it to be the single most efficient attack I have when I have a weapon whos whole IDENTITY is MORPHING and ADAPTING... And for the Sword Parry... give me at least something worthwhile to perfoming it. Bows perfect dodge gives them EVERYTHING. 0 DMG, full Stamina and their Gauge back. SA gets... some dmg reduction? come on....at least give me Sword Gauge... or Amp Gauge... Sharpness? Something other then basically worse Perfect Guarding

Great Sword range feels too short. Needing to over compensate for how close I intuitively feel I need to be to hit. The hit box feels shorter than the model

SnS definitely gained a big change with the triple bounce. We're the new glaive! Perfect rush -> focus strike in the air -> falling slash/bash.

Same. Started with db, went to bow and had that for a while, but settled on sns in world before iceborne, and have carried that torch since, not even touching the others. I love it so much and the mobility and defense is even better now.

I want to Love SnS. I have fun with running around and being pretty quick, but I feel I’m always lacking when it comes to helping my teammates kill the guy. I feel more helpful as a lance cause I can draw aggro and take the hits while they are dishing out damage… I need tips to be better with SnS.

​@wesleybahn2185 When I play sns I focus on part breaking. With slashing and blunt dmg you can go where the team needs you. In late game I like playing a wide range/free meal build so the team is constantly buffed and healed. You play sns however you want. If you want to be more into dps I recommend watching some sns speed runs. That's where I started

On top of the improvements mentioned here Gunlance also stopped nuking its own sharpness when you're using the shelling attacks, so that is yet another improvement. Really hyped to finally play it, looks super fun! CB on the other hand has shifted towards zug-zug Savage Axe and away from the SAED counter style it had in World which I very much enjoyed, on top of not allowing SAED from neutral, so its a downgrade for me, will not even be my secondary in Wilds even though it used to be my main in World.

As a GS main, I’m disappointed how they changed it’s identity. They turned GS from high risk high reward, to low risk low reward. I don't like how they dumbed it down. GS was always about monster knowledge, positioning and commitment. Now that's out of the window, since one can 360 degree readjust anytime, making big hits less rewarding. I also dislike the offset move. It leads to mindlessly spamming it for the topple animation due big dmg. The lack of hitstop & blood makes hits less satisfying.

I'll tell you, the Lance Purest are not happy with the new Lance. It feels even simpler than old Lance with more problems. Mid Thrust and the new Blocking tools are not bad. But Lance Players are not having it. High Thrust is slower compared to World. Leaping Thrust and Guard Dash have longer recovery rates + travel less distance. Dash Attack is too slow to chase after Monsters. Damage Values on Payback Thrust are too low and Leaping Thrust only doing two ticks of damage instead of three. Counter thrust being at the end of a combo has really made Lance players dislike the weapon. It doesn't make you want to use High Thrust when Mid Thrust is much better but in some situations, you have to. Counter Thrust should be a press-and-hold mechanic letting us perform a Counter Thrust at the start or during a High Thrust combo. This is probably the number one thing that needs to be changed next to the High Thrust while Guard Dash, Leaping Thrust, and Dash Attack changes would be the second most important changes. I also seen Rise players be upset losing all the cool moves Lance was able to perform like Spiral Thrust and Shield Charge. I agree World Lance was good but Rise gave variety in the moves set. Maybe in the DLC, they can add Spiral Thrust and maybe make Dash attack in some ways like Shield Charge with blocking and having the option to Shield Bash. But yeah I'm not surprised by the rankings of these weapons as Lance feels like it got small buffs for the major nerfs to the parts of the kit people loved about Lance. New players will come in but I feel like a lot of old players leaving the Lance as it is less aggressive compared to older Lance games. But overall I'm just an old Lance player and I hope people who like the New Lance have fun. I just want a balance so old and new Lance players can enjoy Wild's Lance.

@ I have seen multiple poles and talked to lots of different Lance Players. The majority of Lancer players don’t like the Changes. The ones that do like the changes do say parts need to be spread up. And Counter Thrust needs to be more reliable. I like parts of the new Lance, I like how they streamlined the weapon and the changes to the Mid Thrust but they also made areas worse and made the Lance less aggressive and less mobile in different parts of the Kit. If you don't like my opinion I am saying I want to make the Lance better and help bring in new players that like new Lance and have the old players be happy to have old parts of the old Lance still in the Kit.

"Lance pureist should be very happy with it"....yeah they arent. Sure you can still play the lance by just poking hoping and blocking (which is what i guess he did based on what he said) but that isnt how your supposed to play it now. I mean counter thrust, which was lances first counter and has been a stapel in lances kit since the 3rd gen doesnt even exist anymore. And that my class is why we dont listen to youtubers who barely ever play a certain weapon about their opinion of the weapon. Lances best dps (and its not even close) is now locked behind the charged counter thrust, which is a solid contender for hardest to use move in the game. The weapon doesnt at all play like any other version of lance and it doesnt take a long look on the internet to find that out. literally just typed "mh wilds lance opinion" and the first 3 results were all how lancers are disapointed. In a vacuum the weapon is fine. There are some things that need to be fixed, like the pay off for perfect guarding compared to power guarding, follow up rush being akward to use and the charge run being super slow. but not bad changes However not in a vacuum the weapon has it pretty bad: First the weapon lacks in damage so much compared to other weapons, even though lance was made slower, has more animation commitment now and harder to use counters compared to iceborne lance, while a lot of other weapons had the oppisite happen. Though this just a beta and we already know there is a balance update comming so i wont weigh this point to much. Second the weapon got nothing in weapon identity. Every other weapon with a shield can now counter as good (or almost as good) as lance and im not even going to get into the new interupt attacks and adept dodges which are way better than blocks. Honestly "more counters" has been a trend in the newer games and i wouldnt even mind it if lance had gotten anything to call its own. They could have leaned into the zooming accross the map aspect and brought back moves similar to spiral thrust and clutch claw counter and focused in on using the charge or they could have brought back drill attacks like corckscrew jab and made new ones or they could have gone with something completly new like throwing the damn spear.....but no, despite all the talk of weapon identity, lance's identity seems to not matter

Counter thrust still exists, it just bound to perfect guard -> circle instead of doing it after a poke. No , perfect guard is not hard to perform and you can block at any time during a combo. Literally skill issue. Its takes some time to get used, but new lance is really good and aside from the low mv in some attacks its the best iteration yet. Sincerely a lance main since MHFU

We do have the new charged counter which you can do at the end of the triple poke combo (it isnt perfect guard and i wasnt talking about perfect guard or power guard either ) maybe you should check about what move the other person is talking about befor calling "skill issue". Not talking about perfect guard or power guard, im talking about the new charged counter thrust....if you dont know what that is.....well skill issue If you love the new lance that is great though, i dont dislike it either but you can perfect guard with all shield weapons now, so i am kinda at a lose on what lance is supposed to bring to the table that other weapons dont have. In a game full of counters the counter weapon just isnt that special

yeah I agree, High Thrust being slower, Leaping Thrust and Guard Dash having more recovery value's and traveling less distance. Less ticks of damage from Leaping Thrust. While Dash Attack can't chase monsters anymore. Leaping Thrust only doing two ticks of damage over three. I feel like Counter Thrust being stuck at the end of the three poke combo doesn't makes any sense and gives us less options. Maybe if High Thrust could be pressed and hold down to perform Counter Thrust at the start or during a High Thrust attack. and that's just for World players Rise players hate that we lost Shield Charge, Spiral Thrust, etc. So many options just gone and removed. I feel like KZbinrs have made this weapons worse or at least the internet has. When people dont' understand why people like the Lance and just go hehe poke poke poke weapons with guard here and there. But don't understand the combos and reasons why Lance works in the first place. It's lost depth and has lost it's identity in Monster Hunter. It's sad... I do hope people that like it to have fun

yeah, I loved Rise because you could choose any style of lance you wanted to play. But the beta gave lance a truly awkward kit not having and speed and attack power for evade style or adept as well as not having a classic move set for defensive style . along with not doing any damage it simply feels bad to play, also what's the point to having mid thrust be slower . SNS by comparison seems like it does lance better than actual lance.

@@FrogletBot I do miss Rise Lance, Do you think they should add Shield Dash or Spiral Thrust into the kit as those were popular in the Lance community. You could easily implement them into the Lance with the Current Kit. But we at least got a few things from Rise but it's a small amount. I agree with the changes to the other weapons Lance doesn't have a identity. They try to make the Lance better, but somehow also make it worse and everything cool about the weapon is either gone or on other weapons that do its job better now. But yeah I don't understand why High Thrust is slower and Counter Thrust is stuck behind a three-poke combo. Devs give hyper armor to the LS and all Shields have perfect guard. But hey let's nerf Lance. No one plays it. People can have fun with the new Lance and I hope they do. But I hope they also know. Lance needs help and some parts need to be reworked. So old Lance players are happy and new Lance players are happy.

I said it before, I will say it again: Wilds SnS is for longtime SnS mains. I am very glad we didn't get something flashy, since the last three times where we did get something flashy, it instantly became the overly dominant way to play the weapon. Base World had backhop into Falling Bash spam, Iceborne is still just Perfect Rush spam and Rise + Sunbreak is still Metsu Shoryugeki with shield bashes mixed in. I know you can ignore the "meta" playstyle and have a perfectly good time with the weapon, but the issue is that we now have the data for it with in-game damage numbers. We know it is the best and not by a small margin either. So yeah, I am glad that SnS didn't get anything overly flashy that would've dominated its playstyle again.

meanwhile LS was given less commitment in its attacks and additional finisher with super wide cone the weapon imbalance is so obvious, I wish they made other weapons (especially GS) much more rewarding atleast, since I heard that TCS got a damage nerf to compensate for redirection SAED is somehow less braindead than Savage Axe playstyle now (Savage Axe playstyle was braindead too in MHW but not like this) Insect Glaive became overly reliant on Kinsects and charged attacks Hey, atleast Lance got an additional poke, that’s good I guess 😔

As a greatsword main - I have mixed feelings about the changes. Like, on one hand they did a good job making the weapon *feel* more consistent. Being able to aim while in focus mode shifts up the playstyle of the weapon a bit- Instead of just blitzing through to true charge slash as frequently as possibly, youll more regularly use the entire combo of the weapon, as well as the other moves (This feels like a common theme for monster hunter wilds, they seem to be going in a direction to encourage you to use more of your weapons move sets). As a down side... theyve made the weapon more consistent. Because of how reliably you can go through your entire combo, and specifically, how reliably you can land TCS, theyve flattened the damage curve of the weapon, especially the TCS itself. It still hits hard, but its not the "nuke" it used to be. In world TCS would hit for more damage than the first 2 hits (charge slash, strong charge slash), combined. Where TCS would do a bit over double what charged slash would do, it now does around 80~ % more damage. Its almost *too* easy to land TCS now, and because of it, the comparative "reward" for doing so is reduced.

It gives you good information about what part of your move set is strong, and helps you make an informed decision about what moves you can/should be using, and when theyre worth the risk to pull off.

Me "essai" was about how they flattened the damage curve of the entire combo, because they made it so much easier to land, and by relation lowered the skill ceiling / reward of the weapon. "and remove numbers." Knowing the numbers is entirely how we now know its better to use the entire combo, than it is just to constantly work into TCS. If you dont like the damage numbers - Turn em off. Its an option and no one is forcing you to use them. Some of us play the game for different reasons. Like the game however you want to like it. Let others like it however they want to like it. My wanting to understand what is efficient or why, doesnt effect you. Likewise you wanting to be oblivious to whats effective doesnt effect me.

As a hammer main since 3rd gen, I think hammer could use some tweaks. Mighty charge is cool but the most optimal way to use hammer is spam spinning bludgeon and mighty charge cause they combo off each other (which is really boring). Also, mighty charge does more damage than the 5th hit of the big bang combo and since you can combo it from the 4th big bang hit there is literally no reason to finish the big bang combo. The mighty charge either needs to be nerfed or the 5th hit of big bang needs to be buffed.

As a Swaxe main since World, I think you put it too high should've been C for everything IMO people are generally too afraid to criticise things and companies that they love I love Capcom, I love resident evil and Monster Hunter but I hate that they haven't remade Dino Crisis and then they added salt to the wound with Exo Primal XD So yeah, I hope Swaxe goes more back towards Sunbreak or even Iceborne swaxe with versatility and both modes being good instead of "spam counters and only ever do this one move" because I don't like longsword or charge blade, I like switch axe

this is so true, also you take around 50% dmg when you counter and the over all dmg numbers are pretty low. As a switch axe main I was disappointed hopefully they can adjust some things.

I feel like calling wilds horn similar to rise horn in any way is a insult. No offense to people who like it but rise horn is a design failure in every front. It takes everything that makes hh hh (even though it has a clear inspiration to take with world) and throws it out the window while telling it to be more like everything else because if you cant think of a way to make a weapon more popular just homogenize it. Wilds horn looks at world, sees the playrates and actually takes its time to think about how to make it better and its glorious. First of all, you have your notes and songs back. Already better than rise. Then you take the songs and encores that are the other half of its identity and make them less punishing and confusing to use but thats not all you add a cool minigame to still keep a tinge of that skill expression along with better although still limited mobility to better adapt to the monster design. (This is the only change that could make a old horn main mad but the way they handle is so sublime that i feel most of us dooters will be more than satisfied) Now that the weapons titular gimmick is done things get a bit simpler. The base moveset is mostly the same with your forward smash now having a followup attack (which i think can be any note like the flourish? if anyone can clarify please do) which is nice. This is the move you usually start off with during monsters' moments of weakness so giving it that extra damage potential while also introducing more decisionmaking in moment to moment gameplay is just fun. The new moves are where it gets real. First off the echo bubble. Its simply perfect. You get a new resource to juggle that makes up for the reduced song commitments that is not only incredibly fun to use but introduces a whole new dimension of strategy with having to adapt your bubble placements to the monster and the environment. This might sound overwhelming but following the trend of player friendliness you get 3 bubbles with a cooldown of 30 seconds each so its not too hard to use but still has a baffling amount of potential for skill expression. The startup for a echo bubble placement also lets you input up to 3 notes which is also just a fun cherry on top. This will also have different buffs for each horn so very exciting on the playstyle front as well. The special performance (or offset melody for the demo horn) is exciting. The melody itself is a simple offset attack without too many strings attached but it being integrated into the song system while not taking any slots or inputs from the other songs is nice and overall implemented very well but the fact that different horns will have different special performances is the real kicker here. We got a taste of this with the weapon trailer showing us the special performance for the bone horn so ill leave it up to you to imagine all the cool stuff were gonna get. Just another perfect addition for playstyle diversity. The focus strike is like the regular songs but on crack. Youbonk the monster and start absolutely shredding it with another little minigame of timing notes with the reward of considerably higher damage if you time all the notes right. This just mashes the free notes and timing minigames of the other moves together to make the most satisfying (and rewarding!) move in your kit and boy does it nail that job. Another perfect integration of a new mechanic by capcom. I just wanted to give my opinions but it ended up turning into a love letter for hunting horn so excuse me for the overtly long and maybe a tad bit obtuse paragraphs i just had to get it off my chest somewhere

Surprised lance made it to B, it feels horrible to me, with the slightly slidy movement and the loss/change of the reset counter and the finisher combo move, it still lacks defensively, excluding perfect guards, which sns can do much easier btw. Lance the tank, still unable to just block something.

Personally my two main weapons since I started from World (really started with Tri but skipped 4th gen) have been Insect Blade and Chargeblade and I'm not happy with either of their changes. Insect Glaive is just the weapon I enjoyed in World&Rise, it's entirely different weapon now. Meanwhile I can acknowledge Chargeblade doing good in numbers, but as someone who preferred SAED focused playstyle and didn't enjoy savage axe, this is not the weapon I enjoyed, this just greatsword with extra steps.

The only offset attack with finicky timing is switch axe. All 4 of the other weapons that have one allow you to hold them for a substantial amount of time before releasing, hell, HH can store it, too. Also, hammer's needs to be comboed into in some way, so it was probably the worst example to use when making that comparison.

I think most of the placements are fine, but I'd personally move insect glaive to S+. I don't use the weapon too much, but I've seen some videos of other people dealing hundreds of damage with just the focus strike. I also think hammer should be moved to S+ (no bias there trust me).

I wanted to say this as I think it's the best example comparison. I don't know why people get so angry about tier lists. Who cares... Play what you want and play the weapon you find the most enjoyable. The average player does not do speedruns. We just play, have fun, kill monsters, show off cool gear and weapons.... rinse and repeat. Only people truly trying to speed-run should care about weapon clear times... I for one can't even recall a a moment I RAN OUT OF TIME in a hunt... like it just does not happen. Also as my first sentence was saying, the best comparison is like a card game. Anyone playing the new Pokemon Pocket? There will be META decks. There always will be. In any competitive game, or even sport... there will be the best way to play. But the average player can still have fun. I enjoy seeing myself succeed on maybe a lower weapon knowing I have good skill. Take pride in yourselves my friends and stop comparing yourselves to other people. Focus on what you enjoy, and you will surely live a happier life ; )

I was testing DB and CB during the beta, i was pretty happy with them. I usually cycle between them, the lance and HH. From what i have seen HH looks pretty good but not sure about lance?

A bit stronger, but what's the price? Now it's become a one trick pony playstyle, for optimal damage you need to constantly do the charge move into the triple extract consumption move, then get all 3 extracts back, rinse and repeat, losing it's versatility. After a few hunts you'll easily become bored doing the same thing over and over

as a bow player i can how heartedly say... I HATE THE NEW BOW!!! it ignores stamina management, it ignores coating management, it ignores aiming, has infinite I frames... similar to ratatoskr's rant about the LS, the bow is stupidly strong and this is hurting it yes we lost dash dance and thats sad... cant stay on charge lvl 4 all the time but gutting all essential mechanics of the weapon doesnt make for a fun experience that rewards you when you play correct and punishes you if you dont

They will have to pry my Lance from my cold, dead, arthritis riddled hands before I give it up. Eventually they will give us anchor rage as a core mechanic and tada the weapon is fixed. Make it act like a secondary OG, lock it behind perfect blocks, and boom…balanced. Lance wouldn’t be the strongest weapon but good gameplay could still keep up with other weapons like LS, Sns, and DBs (all weapons that SHOULD have the same MVs as Lance).

I think Lance would need more than anchor rage, but anchor rage would be a cool mechanic that's easy to add. Lance's Counter Thrust and/or Powerguard would be a good place to put it. I would make it more reliable instead of being behind a three-poke combo.

@@czairkolmoslink5952 true not locking the only real damaging attacks Lance has behind a combo would be a big step. As far as a solid buff though, I think the concept of anchor rage would be fine. I use the name of the skill because it’s easy to paint a picture but I don’t actually want the skill itself. Just the buff from it but locked behind perfect guarding. Anchor rage was a 20-25% (can’t remember the exact number) atk increase after the buff for Sunbreak if you blocked a big attack so that on top of 3 levels of offensive guard would be what a 35-40% atk increase? That’s more than enough to close the gap in power from other weapons and it would reward clean gameplay.

@@sephirian688 Which would be nice, I was thinking of a press-and-hold mechanic that you can Counter Thrust whenever you start or during the High Thrust combo. I feel like it brings some skill to the weapons and gives more options. Hmm, it could work like Anchor Rage as well, so the harder the hit the stronger the buff you get. I think they buffed Power Guard to do this, but it's only for your first attack. Over all, I like the idea of a Skill that we can use that makes us stronger.

This iteration of LBG is a bit disappointing, especially since they were talking about overhauling it. The new skills just feel like filler and not really useful. Where's the cool shit that highlights its mobility? It needed a repositioning tool similar to Fanning Maneuver. A counter would've been nice. But I think it really needed an adept dodge similar to bow. It encourages you to engage with enemy attacks to possibly fill up your meter to get back to that rapid fire mode quicker. This version of LBG is just a tweaked version of the MHW so far and it's just boring.

Not even tweaked, just straight up worse. We lost 2 mines, our rapid fire is now tied to a limited gauge with no proportional increase in power, elemental ammo doesn't contribute to refilling said gauge, the input timing on burst step is super precise, chaser shot has massive recoil no matter what ammo you use it with and to top it all off, the only new mechanic we get to interact with is wounds/focus strikes despite us being the only weapon other than hbg ( as far as I know ) that gains no value from detonating wounds other than damage. All other weapons either get a chunk of whatever gauge they have, or they get a follow up attack that hits hard and works into their core combo/mechanic. Lbg felt like the only weapon that didn't improve AT ALL from the previous gen.

It feels like they were too caught up with trying to rebalance the damage that they forgot to actually add anything truly worthwhile. I can see myself using the normal chaser shot but the energy mode version is more situational and a straight up DPS loss. I don't like burst step at all, it's such a redundant skill that can actually put you in a bad situation because of the slide reload. This weapon really needed something more to highlight that mobility identity. Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture yet and they have something decent tied to weapon mods or whatever, but it's not looking good so far.

They are totally going to take the wrong data from this and nerf GL into the dirt. Even though, without skills GL has much more favorable showing. Without other weapons stacking raw or element, shells do well. But, if they can stack that stuff, it falls off. They said they want to "fix" GL by making it clone CB... Kind of. But their history would imply that they don't want GL to ever be this good. Bow needs massive nerfs, it won without any element damage, that's it's main damage source. Not surprising if you have a mechanic that lets you ignore all of bow's other mechanics. Gone are the days of ammo/coating management, gone are the days of stamina management. Hell, even aiming is gone if you spam this dodge enough and stack power coating+tracer arrow. Bow won this by losing all 4 of its core mechanics and, in the final game, it will only get 1 back. The one it will get back is element so it's a buff to push it even further ahead of the other weapons. No, I started with lance and this is trash. They added all this stuff that was utterly meaningless and made lance the saint that took on all the hit lag of every other weapon. The entire point was to have these short attacks so a monster hardly has a window to hit you unless you get greedy or run out of stamina. Ammo's not an argument, we don't know what ammos are exclusive to the weapon types. We just know what the 2 guns we had got. The bounce being removed does gut the fun factor but the biggest issue with IG is what they did to its controls. All you had to do was reuse Iceborne's slinger controls, for weapon that can aim, for focus mode. That would have fixed basically everything. Just let me toggle with R3 and set IG along with the guns to toggle without having to set any other melee weapon to toggle. IG, in the context of controls, is a ranged weapon. Forcing us to use your new assist type clone to get extracts is not a justification for ruining a weapon's controls, utterly. In fun factor, hammer and SA are the top for me. They are the best glow ups any weapon got in the beta. I may main either of them. the performance of SA and its over-reliance on full release for damage is a bit sad. I do love how it is more damage than ZSD so ZSD is more of a defensive used of your meter, that also does decent damage. It's an awesome idea for situational options but the numbers are a problem. The flow of getting sword charge feels the best, it's not too fast and not too slow for me. Same goes for CB relying on savage axe too much. CB was fun, I got my World CB feel again but hearing people wine to me for not using savage axe is not something I'm looking forward to. Seams like the Swiss army knife thing si dying in this game. Mighty cahrge is just super fun, doing a wake up with it takes some getting use to. If you're too close the lead up spins hit the monster for low damage. If you get it right, it's a harder to do/punishing wake up that can hit harder than TCS and it shold because of that downside. the grappling hook move what lets you move faster while charging and maintain the charge is also really nice. Loving HH, it's my favorite version of it. GL is fun, a shame it kind of stole guard points from CB, after it has no use for them anymore. GL got CB's left overs. That aside, it's still really fun. It also copied the raw scaling so GL will be less unique, sadly. I wish we kept the shelling not scaling of of stats and had more skills like sneak attack, where using them is counter intuative to weapons that focus on raw and crit but it's a match made in heaven for GL and say boosting HH while you are avoidng the head, to play songs/build exhaust in peace while everyone else is crowding the head and flinching each other. More of these weird, conditional, percentage increases please. Give us more skill variety. Kill time only matters when the interns add a DPS check in tittle updates. If that doesn't happen, balance doesn't matter.

I honestly hate the changes they did to lance, I don’t mind any of the new moves. The things that bother me are them shortening the distance you move with dash step making it harder to stay on the monster. Also the removal of guard counter completely. I hope they change the lance to be more like how it was in iceborne before the full release or I might be playing a new weapon.
