I would love major map hunts that take 8 hunters to take down, it will come up randomly on timer, but it would be a random daily, that would be so fun, though it would be hard to incentivize…. Never mind it should be the more efficient way to farm decos

I've been waiting for this confirmation. I love spending time with the gang in the gathering hub just doing silly shit before going on hunts. Spamming stickers and emotes to do goofy stuff. The arm wrestling, the sauna, hot springs even the tables we can interact with so much at the gathering hub.

Very nice video. I think that weapons might come with intrinsic skills like armour pieces do so that you can get more offensive skills on the weapon without needing like 5 slots.

The flora and funa nerd in me can't help but notice the red florets that Lalalala gives off looks very similar to a flower in real life called the red spider lily.. how fitting 😂 also dispensing flowers from the abdomen is similar to what tarantulas do (other creatures do it as well p sure). They rub their hind legs on their abdomens to "launch" the hairs into the air. It serves as a defense mechanism. Causing pain and irritation. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

I suspect that skills will be heavily reworked to facilitate the new system where Offence is only on weapons. By this, i mean look at gen 4 and older. A skill like attack boost only had 2-3 levels depending on the game. Wex was either On or not. If we go to this, instead of multiple points per skill (for most skills) this would help a lot with reducing skill bloat with 1 and 2 points here and there, and would still allow for plenty of offensive weapon skills with relatively less mess on the weapon itself

Good question! So far I can only say that, when I played at Gamescom, I saw regular defensive skills such as Divine blessing on the armor. And the skill point system seemed similar to world except there was no offensive skills.

Iceborne allowed Elders to exist in a map with other Monsters, plus them affecting the weather might actually be something they use late game or in am expansion, as the current 3 season cycle could be thrown out of whack in an interesting way by an Elder appearing

For now we have only infos about these specific offensive skills jewels fitting ONLY on the weapons. I also found it strange, but it could mean that each weapon will have slots. We still don't know how the jewels themselves will work. Maybe to build Attack Boost 7. We will need only a single jewel AB 7 etc... ?

But the other problem is that even woth all atk related jewels on the weapon.. lets say i play 1 dual blade and 1 hbg.. even then hbg need other defensive jewels than dual blades While dual blades need all stamina hbg most likely need guard up, guard, And just of curiosity.. is ammo up an offensive skill in their eyes or a defensive one.. No matter how much i try i can not see 2 too different weapons combine in 1 set Wouldnt it have been easier to swap entire armor sets on the sacret? And why cant i take all 5 dual blades with me so i have the right ele always with me.. Will longsword players now play 2 longswords bc they refuse to learn any hard weapon? Is capcom high And the most important why is it still 5 months to release?

If they said all offensive decos are tied to weapon then wasnt almost all build usually build for offensive. There is so little skill for defense. Even worst bow, bowguns need essential skill and if they want wex also. They need to put it in the armor. Since armor decos are shared. Then build hybrid long and short range become not optimal.

I feel like Arkveld is highly unlikely to be an Elder Dragon, not just because of what the devs said but also because of its body type. It has the traditional body style of a Wyvern. Meaning 2 legs and 2 wings (2/2). While traditional dragons have 4 legs and 2 wings (4/2). Of course the meaning of “dragon” and “wyvern” in MH is very different and greatly expanded from traditional mythology but the association is still there. While there are MANY examples of elder dragons that are not the 4/2 body type, there are no examples of elder dragons with the 2/2 body type. On top of that there is only 1 example of a non-elder with a 4/2 body type and that’s Gore Magala. (It’s possible I forgot or missed some monsters, but even if I did I doubt it would be enough to counteract my point.) Of course, there is a first time for everything. They could still make him an Elder. Maybe his unique body shape will even tie into the story or him being ancient and thought to be extinct. Anything is possible. TLDR, Monster hunter plays VERY loosely with the terms “wyvern” and “dragon”. However, so far it has kept the traditional wyvern body type associated with wyverns (particularly flying wyverns) and the traditional dragon body type associated with Elder dragons. As a result, I expect Arkveld not to be an Elder Dragon.
