I felt the same playing the OG game on PS2, seeing those (at the time, to me) beautiful vistas and such in levels... but being disappointed that there was no way I could *go over there* or anything. We're finally reaching technology levels where the original promise and vision of MH can be a reality. World and Rise got closer than we've ever been, but this is what we've all wanted all this time. 😭

Idk, im so tired of rath, he's always just been so... meh. MH has had so many better monsters to represent the series than a basic goblin faced dragon, yet rath always takes the spotlight from cooler monsters (shoutout the cover to 3u)

nope, main games has a number of wyvern heads based on what generation it is. and since it has 6 heads, it is a 6th gen game.

imo the density of MHW is what made the maps enjoyable in the long run. made it deep. I get what oyu mean with claustrophobic. But I think the first map was that ay on purpose to make it really wild vertical and confusing like a real forest/jungle and the second map felt like an trip back to the roots yk?

@@yomamah5973 yeah I agree that was the vibe they were going for; it did feel a little too immersive for me. 1000 hrs in and I still loathe hunting in the ancient forest. I agree that wildspire and subsequent areas are much better. For me though it's much of a personal taste because I have claustrophobia, I feel safer to explore wider more breathable places even in games.

Typically each generation of Monster Hunter has two titles - one by the main dev team and one by the second team - so despite arriving after Monster Hunter World, Monster Hunter Rise isn't Monster Hunter 6.@@lionzcrown1702

@@lionzcrown1702 no. monster hunter works in releasing 2 set of games per generation one from the "console/main" team and the "portable" team. World and Rise are Monster Hunter 5 and Monster Hunter Portable 5th. If we go by your logic that means that World itself is not Monster Hunter 5 but Monster Hunter 14 since there are 13 "official" release games before it. This would make wilds actually monster hunter 18. No, Monster Hunter Wilds is Monster Hunter 6.

@@baeshin consoles gpus are like laptop gpus in that even if they are RTX4090 they get outperformed by 2060's from desktop because desktop gpus have much more power and ram. not saying ps5 is potato, just that below 1k console is better altough at 1k or above pc lasts twice as much, in use, durability, quality and lifespan. (i have both and i have experience with both) ps5 or xbox overheat easily with high specs, they do much more noise, and they limit graphic options in games. while my pc has 4 years and still works like new, doesnt overheat and is silent, (1,3k price in 2019). i could have my pc ON all day and its nothing.

@@CrownofMischief There may be some elder dragon shenananigans with the way the arid dessert suddenly sprung vegetation after the sandstorm swept it. Which could hint at the first "Mother Nature"-esque Elder dragon of the series.

They might also be trying to implement monsters actually trying to use the environment against players, evidenced by the random lightning strikes and how those spikes and the spike herbivores conduct the lightning. Maybe Rathalos can also set vegetation ablaze, creating environmental hazards the player will need to navigate around during the hunt.
