Good tip for levelling up areas via monster. If you check the map, it will tell you which area each monster will level up.

Just killed the final boss of Iceborne. Took me 2 hours to kill him, his Ultimate is just 🤯 (Did the whole campaign solo too) What a DLC expansion, other game companies should take notes. Everything feels fresh, even when you’re fighting new monsters in old areas. Worth every penny 👌

Ehhh shara was the easiest part of the dlc for me even ruiner was more of a challenge and he was severely limited during the fight I mean as far as final bosses go it was to easy and if it was a true rpg final boss it needed a third form rock then wind and then it's final form there's always a final form in major boss battles at the end of the game that ain't secret bosses I mean kingdom hearts final fantasy dark souls 3 these are games that do it right I mean ansem/xemnas benivehlza freakin Uncle Gael all great ends and all great bosses all have three forms well Uncle Gael has three stages to his fight but it's the same thing

I looked at the rathalos longsword tree and saw gray mystery materials in the final version and assumed they were yian garuga but when I looked at the rathian tree I lost my mind

If you look at your map it shows which of the areas the monster is related to. If you look at the bar in the bottom left and let's say its rathian it'll show your tracking progress and an image of the area they are related to

Scarred yian garuga needed to upgrade garuga weapons so its still a must if you use one of them( her LBG is best rapid fire pierce and good for sticky 2 ). But yeah, no armor set

I knew the Metal Raths were a given, I mean just looking at the weapon trees aline you can tell by both Rath weapons going from Blue and Pink material colors... to Grey/Silver and Yellow/Gold... easy to put that together. But the variant Tigrex and Garuga? Ok, that suprised me

Brute Tigrex is a Subspecies, not a Variant btw. An easy rule of thumb(outside of the Raths and Black Blos to some extent) is that Subspecies = Base but different. Variant = Base but more. A common theme with variants is also base=enraged, while Brute Tigrex is "Tigrex but roars more agressively".

Yeah, I feel they're definitely thinking something up for it. Even Zorah Magdaros has MR Armor despite it not showing up in Iceborne. Xeno getting zilch while practically every other monster from the base game did is (almost) as suspicious as there not being an arctic biome in vanilla World. If they have something planned for it, it will probably be a DLC critter or a MR Event.

Trick to cycle monsters in Guiding Lands VERY quickly (works to spawn secret monsters too once you lvled to 6) . Go to training area - check world map and guiding lands for monsters - if its not what you want talk to cat and change items in arena - loading take like 10 seconds. Check the map again and you have different monsters. Repeat untill you find who you want and just go there trough map. EZ

I've slain Gold Rathian several times in the guiding lands already but I can't seem to get investigations for her (despite somehow getting them for everything else, even Ruiner Nergigante for some reason) and even worse is that I get no optional/arena quest for her. I've fought like 7 tempered Scarred Yian Garuga, I still haven't seen a single normal one. The tempered ones don't even drop Scratched Shell and I want that LBG.. There is literally no reason to fight Tempered Scarred Yian Garuga. No unique drops, you actually lose the only unique drop it has. The tempered ones are awful by the way, they kill you in like one peck regardless of HP and defense. They break your shield in one hit unless you have Guard 5.

Idk if this is just me, but I’m able to fight scarred Yian Garuga before being MR 70 and without having anything in my guiding lands being level 6. I went to check some investigations and saw I had a scarred Yian Garuga hunt in there. Idk if it glitched or not, but I hadn’t joined anyone’s games that had the scarred in it or a guiding lands with that as well.

ice dual blades, fireproof and vitality mantle, and dash juices. as long as you keep circle dashing down his side so you avoid his flamethrower attacks and dash away from his supernova blast, you should be able to kill him fairly easily. also have fun with MR teo when you get there. ive seen him one shot full health maxed armor hunters with a jumping slam.

You only need level 4 forest in the guiding lands for the yian Garuga . This monster is so annoying in iceborn , purple sharpness bounces on him lol . I remember killing him super easily in MHFU lol
