If your doing a more CASUAL run, and NOT trying to rush to get to IB DLC, before Wilds comes out then you should STEER CLEAR, from any and ALL DEFENDER GEAR as a first time newbie Player Devs say this aswell, Using Defender gear on your FIRST RUN of the game will be DETREMENTAL to your run when going through IB DLC It won't prepare you and rushes the base game so its progression would be TOO FAST for you to get the Skills from regular gear NEEDED to not be so easily bet down by the diffculty spike IB DLC already sets you out for PLEASE if you JUST got into the game STAY AWAY and craft yourself some ACTUAL Regular Gear that WILL help you through the game and get the skills needed to PROPERLY be ABLE to take on the IB DLC when you get there This is NOT a gatekeeping thing, Devs have said it aswell, but the Defender gear is NOT made for first time playthroughs of the game, and are made for SECOND or 3rd time profiles instead Its used to skip base game faster on those profiles so players can catch those up to IB DLC, where their MAIN one would likely be at. If you do wanna use it, then no ones stopping you, we're just trying to warn you about how UNPREPARED for IB LC it will make you, making the DLC harder on/for yourself than it SHOULD be. @@ashtralvid Its not just for progression reasons, its bc Defender gear makes base game easier and rushes it making a lotta newbies miss out on essential skills they would learn from regular gear that would help them when it comes time for them to cross over to IB DLC, which itself ive heard alr has a decently big skill gap from the get-go I myself am doing stuff before IB DLC, to get most of base game, idc game gave me 11 new armor sets that will be usuales first thing in IB DLC, They look real good darn it! haha theres also plenty of crossover/collab stuff to look forward to end base game before getting to the MAJOR of that stuff thats in/at IB DLC
