As a trombone and tuba player, I wholeheartedly agree. They didn’t feature low brass a lot in MHW in favor of trumpets, and this theme would’ve been perfect for loud, explosive low brass segments fit for the infernal emperor.

This and bazel are hands down the best themes in mhw. Really suits Teostra so well, an ancient foe that is the master of fire, deemed the most powerful of elder dragons. Really emphasises that you are facing a truly legendary foe. Also considering he’s a lion and lions are known as the kings of the jungle, they did well making this theme very regal. Even Teostras body language in the game is spot on and ties in with who he is. The beat is a perfect mix of ferocious fire and powerfull regality.

New World Teostra is justifiably sure of its nigh-unchallenged place at the top of the food chain, so he has no reason to waste energy on something as seemingly insignificant as a small unknown creature, especially in the Elder's Recess, where he can live entirely on the bioenergy-rich crystals. It's only when you attack him does he realize that you need to be eliminated. Old World Teostras, meanwhile, have had hundreds or even thousands of years of interactions with people, and they know that when a small two-legged creature wielding a big metal stick approaches you, it's time to fight.

to me Teostra older theme is for a younger, scrappier King who fights and mocks his enemies. Teostra's world theme is an Older King in his twilight years the youthful flare he had is gone but his flame for combat hasn't extinguished, if its a fight you want a fight you're going to get.
