I believe it wouldn't work. To evaporate all of the ferrofluid including the magnetite you would have to heat it. And heat doesn't go well with magnetism, since materials lose their magnetism with increasing temperature (search Néel and Curie temperature).

Ive only just discovered your videos. I'm hugely interested in science, space, physics and technology and my young daughters are too. They will love these videos and I am certain it will inspire them to want to know more. Thank you for making them and for adding a wonderful sense of humour to them too!
