It's 2024 now, the song was released in 1962, the fact that it's been 62 years already and the song is still such a hit is really amazing. Bobby is such a legend.

@@MetFan37 both of you are correct. He is doing a completely different rendition here and not trying to imitate his original. Also, songs that are heavily produced like this one, never sound the same as the studio version. BUT, yeah you can tell that his voice sounds weaker here as well.

I was 6 years old when this Hit came out. My 2 Brothers and I had the Measles, and couldn't go out to Trick or Treat, so we played it over & over while Mom & Dad did the Twist to it to keep us happy! What an icon this guy is, he truly is; good fun and all.

In 1962 when this hit was released Bobby Pickett was a hit the song was great I was 9 years old and I could speak monster mash. Still to this day now 71 I can still do it. It's too bad he never found a second hit to this he was sent to my knowledge other songs but nothing ever came close to this spectacular song that is still playing some 72 years later in just a few days on a lot of radio stations rest in peace you always be one of my favorite monsters

So nostalgic, the Monster Mash immediately takes me back to my childhood around Halloween. As an adult, still love this. Not to mention, Bobby was so fantastic with kids, and just people in general. I can only imagine how delightful it would be to be around him, talking to him and simply listening to his wisdom.

I read in the comments on one video of this song somebody wondering if he ever got tied of doing this. I figure he felt about this song the same as Boris Karloff said he felt about the Frankenstein monster that made him so famous. Mr. Karloff called it the darling monster. This song is much like that darling monster. It's a part of many kids fondest memories both young and old. I'm 67 now and when I hear this song I'm a young girl again for a few moments. Delightful.

I was sitting on my couch, late this night and on google maps i had a fright for i could not find Monster Mash Alley and i must admit, it was a bit scary I looked and looked but to no avail it just seems quite the tall tail it made me sad as it would be grand if i could go there once i made plans but alas it seems to have lost it's class when it removed its Monster Mash

@@biggdogg7840 The vampire was a girl. She had her hair in a bun (you could tell when the characters were switching sides) and when facing front you could tell she had a figure. This was 15 years ago and there probably weren't a lot of boys participating in a local fundraiser.
