Purchased a Honda ATC 200s 3 wheeler with bad motor and converted it into a two wheeler monster mini bike. Some parts were found on Ebay but mostly taken off the donor bikes given to me by friends. If you have any questions, feel free to comment and don't forget to subscribe. Here's another project (trail bike) that you might like • COMPLETE BUILD MONSTER...
Both songs are from KZbin free audio library. Both are by artist name Silent partner and first song is called Believer and second song is Cloud patterns.

Awesome video. That young man will remember dad later in life everytime he sees a minibike. When I was 10 my dad brought me an old used minibike home. He would wrench on it about everytime i had it out. He finally looked at me one day and said, listen, you have watched me fix it all these times and if you want to keep riding, you will keep it running. I started picking up tools and doing what he taught me. As I got older, he got me a used 1975 Honda XL100. I put points in it once and rode the hell out of it. Thank You Dad.

Only one way to do a break on this rear and he would need to modify the stock assembly to also take the sprocket or have a piece machined so you can run a foot drum break

To Julian Williams I've tried to reply to your comment but your KZbin settings are probably disabled and I couldn't write back to you. Regarding parts, I've sold the engine for $100 and rear axle for $75 to some kid who is going to make a drift trike. I guess it's a new craze now slipping and sliding down the hill into incoming traffic.

Original gas tank was hella rusty and i just didn't want to deal with it. Besides, gas gets old after a while when it sits in the gas tank. That's why i decided to use smaller tank.It gives me several hours of riding time and i always refill it with fresh gas. Win Win

TO: gunner ferguson4 hours ago how much did it cost in parts to build that. Please answer back I am very interested in building one of those my self. Hello Gunner I've tried to reply to your question but your settings are disabled where no one can reply to you so that's why i'm using this message feature to get back to you. I purchased this 3 wheeler for $200 as is. sold the motor for $100 and rear axle for $75 leaving me with $25 bucks worth of stuff like front end,gas tank, frame and wheels. Bought harbor freight motor for $100, torque converter on eBay for $100 and rear hub for $25 on eBay. Kill switch for $10 and hand grips for $12 also on eBay. Paint and primer $30 and welding flux core wire at home depot for $12. Chain was $20 and rear sprocket $17. Got the tubing for free at scrap yard.This whole project roughly speaking ended up costing me around $350 bucks. All in all, it came out cheaper than getting a baja mini bike at the store but those massive tires are priceless. If you are planing on doing similar project than get a jack-shaft to off set your motor with rear sprocket. it will be much easier to make adjustments. good luck with your build and let me know how it goes.

To Daniel MacDonald 2 hours ago Hondas deserve respect. You can buy old trail bikes in that style.... Running trail bikes are sold anywhere between $1000 to $3000 bucks depending on their condition. My hacked up creation came out to $350. I tried to persuade myself to show more respect to Hondas but my wallet told me to go this route.

Cool build. But all you did was make a large baja Minibike. The 200s is a WAY better motor than a harbor freight go kart engine. Very easy and cheap to rebuild and bulletproof.
@balabay77
@balabay77 9 жыл бұрын
Yes sir, that was the whole intention to turn it into a jumbo/ giant mini bike. I'm not an expert in rebuilding these motors. I was quoted at anywhere between $600 to $800 for complete rebuild. For that price I can buy 6 go kart motors and ride it till the wheels fall off. It wasn't meant to go fast 'cause I was making it for my kid. All in all it was a cheap build and my son likes it.

Simon Rogers Thanks a million Simon for your support. I totally understand that for sentimental value, people would not take too kindly to hack up projects like the one in this video. Here's my take on this. Besides having a blown motor, the 3 wheeler was in bad shape and too far gone to be able to salvage it. Trike needed a complete restoration to make it look like new. (roughly 2000 to 3000 thousand dollars.) I basically gave it a new shot at life. So it lost a wheel, big deal! At least its being used on the weekends instead of sitting in someones barn collecting dust and rust. I got it for $200. sold the motor for $100 and rear axle for $75. ended up with frame and front suspension for a whopping $25 bucks. All in all, This bike came out to around $350. Its a cheap, functional bike that's fun to ride. Cheers.

Gabe Lewis Thank you for your input Gabe. I do have another 3 wheeler that is in good running condition. i will eventually restore it to mint condition and keep it as a momentous of the early 80's. Plastics are weathered but the trike runs great. The bike in this video went tits up when it started to have a grinding noise in the motor. I was quoted around 600 to 800 just to rebuild the motor. It wasn't worth my time and $$$ to restore it. Purchased this trike on craigslist for $200 specifically to make a mini bike out of the frame. In my neck of the woods these trikes are still readily available anywhere between 100 to 1000 bucks depending on the condition that its in. Ranchers will gladly sell their rusty barn toys for dirt cheap. Thanks for watching.

Gabe Lewis No problem. i totally understood what you meant and i agree with you only if the bike is worth restoring. some people invest thousands into these bikes just to keep them in the garage. i guess there's a bunch of sites dedicated to trike lovers and enthusiasts who would love to hate my video. In life, you can't please everyone. Like i said before, i will keep one ATC 200s that i paid $175 bucks and maybe it will be worth more 5 or 10 years down the road.

@balabay77 10 жыл бұрын
My goal was to make a cheap or should I say very affordable bike out of junk. I also thought about going bigger with motor size but frame couldn't accommodate it. Secondly, I would of had to use 40 series torque converter or even go with Polaris snowmobile heavy duty clutch. The whole setup could of ended up costing me well over $1000 bucks. Bike in the video came out to $400. I know that it's not very powerful but for my 10 year old it's perfect. It's got enough cc's to Cary me around and I Weigh 180lb. Predator engines are cheap, reliable and disposable. Thanks for watching my clip.

Nice build... Kinda hate that you chopped up a 3 wheeler... but good luck replacing the tires :D

It's alright, I recently purchased another one for $175 bucks and it's in great condition. Runs like a champ. Some hillbilly farmer kept it in the shed for all these years. I'll keep it as a 3 wheeler. The one I chopped up was a goner anyways. Bought it to practice my welding on it. As far as tires concerned, not sure where you live but in my neck of the woods I can get them new anywhere between 60 to $80 bucks. They still make them. Thanks for watching.

Ever thought about using the big gas tank for the gas?
@balabay77
@balabay77 9 жыл бұрын
Hello Carl Big gas tank is rusty inside due to sitting outside for over 20+ years and also there's a small hole at the bottom of the tank. It's not worth salvaging it. I've used it only for looks. Small gas tank gives us more than enough time to ride the beast before we call it a day. (3 hours worth of fun) Besides, it's not recommended to let the gas sit for too long 'cause it will go bad and cause issues. Thanks for watching my clip.

mangreat71 These engines are capable of running for hours on end. People install them on water pumps and generators so add gas and ride it until the wheels fall off.

Front brakes only with that front suspension, all I think of is Endo and flying over the handle bars. Lol but it still turned out great and wouldn't expect it to be perfect on the first attempt. Keep up the great work

What speed are you getting with the 212cc and the torque converter?
@balabay77
@balabay77 3 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your weight and what type of rig you’re installing it on. In this case, fat tire bike will max out at about 35 mph. Other, smaller mini bike can go 45-50 miles per hour. Some people modify the motor with stage 3 or even stage 4 kit to make it go much faster. I personally haven’t tweaked the motor ‘cause I think it’s fast enough to put a smile on your face but it’s all up to you and your budget. Cheers

So this is a Big ass Mini Bike. I like it, *I have some here , not like this but factory old schools. Trail Cycles, Boonie Bikes, Super Bronc, and a lot of 70's thumper's, around 25 or so. some of them are parts bikes and I have been contemplating some builds but none with this mini bike frame, You said Fat Cat in the beginning but a fat Cat has suspension and a bike engine, I understand about the engine thing because of cost. its much easier to put a 99 dollar Chinese than to repair an actual Japanese Bike motor , but these things ride MUCH better with rear suspension. otherwise its just like riding a log . LOL still , like I was saying, i do like mini bikes. this build can easily more than double your money.
