I haven't found any anime on this level, but the closest ones I've found so far: Ergo Proxy Serial Experiments Lain Gankutsuo: The Count of Monte Cristo Fate Zero Paranoia Agent Baccano! Cowboy Bebop Kids on the Slope I did say _anime_ because there's a manga in the same tier, that would be Berserk. 10/10 manga, wish there was an anime Just wanted to drop these here, since I found Monster because of KZbin comments on an OST.
