Seriously, Caleb Parker is a master. He mixed all of this PERFECTLY for Dodie's soft voice. Even with the enhanced and a bit harder hitting version of the song you guys turned Monster into, her voice is still the star of the performance. WOW.

Where have I been?! 4 years ago and only found this masterpiece a few days ago! The song, crafted so well. The vocals, butter. The arrangement, professional. The groove, solid but fluid. The production, so so good. Is it just me or is it like the band is just playing a little under, a little restrained, so as not to let the monster free? With that feel, it would be easy to let loose and over play. Just 100% all round. Can’t stop listening to it. Each time hearing something new. Thank you so much.

This is the xth time I came back and listened, 1. For a magical song, which captures the listener. 2. For this wonderful accent filling the words with emotion and pushing the melody 3. For a great arrangement that is is just perfect so that the song now came to life 4. For great musicians and nice people 5. A great video which is as good as the arrangement 6. Amazing performance 7. Pomplamoose 8. And a really very very nice done mix. 9. And when you put all of these above together you guys there...I wish all the best luck in the world. 10. And thank you to all the patreons supporting you.. My best.

I went and listened to the official video and ...I have to admit I like this better. Her voice is entrancing in both, but highlighted better here. This arrangement leaves her voice to shine more clearly, and the caliber of backup singing here is just a whole notch better. Plus whoever is doing the mixing for Pomplamoose on this is - as usual - a goddamned **wizard.**

This has that swelling sound that is frisson to perfection. Sometimes music is just magic and this is: The just suburb drumming, the underlying bass track grooving, those lovely strings that chill the spine, the perfect harmonies, and the light touches on the video of dodie's half smile and the obvious pleasure of everyone. It makes my day better to listen to it.

This is just SO good! On every level. Nick Campbell’s bass just grooves so hard. And could dotie be any more charming? I wish this band right here would put out a whole album!

I wish I had the words to express how much I love this, performance/composition/arrangement/everyone in it. It is perfection, I just wish more could discover it and get as much as I have from listening (I have revisited many times, only today commenting). I see there are 2m views and almost 2,000 comments, at time of writing my comment will disappear, I am sure, but this is one of the best musical videos on KZbin right now. There I've said it, even if no one sees what I've said. And I feel better now...thank you.

Hello Jack and Nataly, I m a 53 yr old rock musician who is freaking out on your music. Iv'e watched about 30 of your videos in two days and just wanted to say how awesome you are. Your vids crack me up the way you guys write and interact with each other. Your musicians are awesome, especially love your bass players. Groove galore! This Dodie vid is great too. Singing angels. Jack I love your arrangements, and funk mashups!, you guys are so creative. Love what you do. Wish I had that kind of talent. Nataly, your voice OMG. My daughter came down and said who's listening to my music. I said I stumbled onto this new group, only to see youv'e been at this 10 yrs. Dont give up!

This song moves me in so many ways. All the musicians seem to be in a state of aesthetic bliss and their synergy produces something FAR greater than it's individual parts (which seem perfect in themselves). Dodie and Pomplamoose are modern treasures.

Tell me again about how it hurts Being awfully loud for an introvert Get out of my room, smile wiped clean Isn't it weird to be so mean? I'm guessing that I've grown horns I guess I'm human no more I can tell I've rotted in your brain Oh, how easily passion twists You think I'm a crazy bitch I craft my words to fit your head 'Cause no one listens to the dead So maybe I will talk to you The only way I know how to Mhm, I've said my speech Mhm, through sharpened teeth You break the rules and spikes grow from your skin Please let the devil in A meter apart, we blankly stare We shout in our heads, "Are you still in there?" Well, this ends bad then, we knew it would So we won't eat our words, 'cause they don't taste good I'm guessing that I've grown horns I guess I'm human no more I can tell I've rotted in your brain Oh, how easily passion twists You think I'm a crazy bitch A thousand words are left unsaid 'Cause no one listens to the dead So maybe I will talk to you The only way I know how to Mhm, I've said my speech Mhm, through sharpened teeth You break the rules and spikes grow from your skin Oh, I think it might be worth a try Oh, am I ready to let this die? Mhm, a monster's here Mhm, you plug your ears But hey, you might just listen to it sing Please let the devil in We won't eat our words They don't taste so good We won't eat our words They don't taste so good We won't eat our words They don't taste so good We won't eat our words They don't taste so good Look, we know that I've seen this before High and mighty, at the top of your list Adoring every move, now my rank is sinking But we're both guilty of black or white thinking And through my red eyes, you look pale All of your scars are looking more like scales Two ugly creatures, two sinister preachers Blind to the past, like a couple of monsters Just a couple of monsters So maybe I will talk to you The only way I know how to Mhm, you've said your speech Mhm, through sharpened teeth You break the rules and spikes grow from your skin Oh, I think it might be worth a try Oh, am I ready to let this die? Mhm, a monster's here Mhm, you plug your ears But hey, you might just listen to it sing Please let the devil in We won't eat our words They don't taste so good We won't eat our words They don't taste so good
