I wonder about his temperament, was on edge when brought in to the paddock, then started to sweat up between the legs and was getting warm, then another handler joined his lads and he settled down a bit but might be worse in the big days ahead, just something to note

Given that he looked a grinder in his bumpers, surprised me at how strongly he travelled. At this stage I can't see a reason to go up in trip. The usual stable route is to take in the Challow, and then get turned over at Cheltenham. Maybe try something different this year? The Tolworth would have seemed ideal had they not shifted it to Aintree.

Im reserving judgement All very sweet on the eye but time nothing to get excited about and not sure he beat much and worth noting, if you stp the video at 3mins and 15 seconds you will see that apart from those on the front three, all the riders have stopped riding, doubtless aware they dont want handicap marks based on the proximity to a potentially top class animal . The rider of the 2nd eased up when beaen and the third, a comparaively cheap buy at 60K, was green as grass [hed be the one Id take from the race] The fav cost almost 700K so he ought to have an engine, but Id want to see him race something better before asigning him a superstar label

Terrible race, only three recent horses and Nickys pulled up. Favourite had plenty of flat speed, though.

Jeriko de Reponet won this race last year for Henderson and he's done reasonably well since. He's also racing tomorrow at Newbury. Jonbon won this race in 2021 and he's had a stellar career since. Do not underestimate the quality of this win.
