You have an open differential in your back axle. The cheapest way to fixing wheel spin and keeping an open differential is to make your rear brakes independent of each other. If the right wheel is spinning step on the right brake and the differential with turn the left wheel. We use to do this on home made dune-buggy with two wheel drive.

Put the 212 back on and spin up a AMR300/500 supercharger to feed the Duromax. Complicated, but it should be pretty cheap. Bonus points if you can inject a little propane to up the octane and displace a bit of air to keep the fuel ratios in check with the stock carb.

@@ChrisfromKeyfarm Oh my, a 460 big block. That’s a great motor and sought after by off road enthusiasts. My dad had a 78 super cab with a 460 when I was a child. I remember it well. That is definitely not a S & S clutch but 23 to 24 MPH is not bad. You have an 8.4:1 ratio I assume you mean 1 tooth of clutch for every 8.4 teeth on the transmission gear. I am not to familiar with the bigger engines and clutches than the ones for the 212 Predators. However I would say with a stock 18 HP engine that would be the correct speed to be looking for as it is generally on stock engines under 8 HP. Have you adjusted the carburetor and throttle arm screws that generally limit stock engines RPM's on that Duromax yet?
@ChrisfromKeyfarm3 ай бұрын
I've only adjusted the throttle limit screw so it will fully throttle up.

I think its fair to say that none or not many viewers ever thought, before seeing it here or elsewhere, that an 18hp engine would turn a 35O frame with 5ft tires up a hill, or do anything much useful at all. Clearly, you knew or at least had a hunch that it would work, based in no small part on your previous experience that you shared with us. Having recently had to consider how to size motors for various real world tasks, I have to ask ... Did you consider power formulas when thinking about how to build this thing, or did you just kind of wing it based off of experience and intuition? For example, 1hp is the power required to move 55O lbs 1 foot in 1 second ... and there are formulas for starting torque, etc. Im just curious if you ever consulted such formulas or not.
@ChrisfromKeyfarm3 ай бұрын
When I repowered the tractor I learned you can move anything with enough mechanical advantage , and just went from there. Thanks for watching.

Grat work! Do you think it is possible to build a compost turner out of a recycled old car, or engine, I am trying to figure something out but I clearly do not have the skills you have. I am thinking something like the "Compost turner SGF 2100 B & E THE SMALL SELF-PROPELLED UNIT - SELF-PROPELLED COMPOST TURNER WITH ELECTRIC DRIVE" (you can google it please, I cannot put links here). Or something similar using some recycled parts. If someone can make it I think you are the guy!

What is the reason for the name keyfarm?
@ChrisfromKeyfarm3 ай бұрын
It's a conjunction of a portion of my name and farm, because it started out a farm channel. I called my farm that before the KZbin channel. Like the Cartwright's had The ponderosa , and the Ewing's had South Fork I have Keyfarm. Lol it's a much different scale and if you're young you don't know about anything I just mentioned.

Probably the same style that I'm running on all these projects it's called a noram style normally about 55 bucks they come in 10 tooth or 14 tooth I'd go with the 14 if you have room.
I can find plenty but they are not rated for enough HP
@ChrisfromKeyfarm3 ай бұрын
@TACOMASRT5 yeah I used to worry about that, I don't worry about that anymore. You're not going to find one rated that high. It's more about how much you're stressing the clutch not how much horsepower you have going to it.
@weldeddaydreams3 ай бұрын
Hey Chris, looks like your springs are a bit too heavy duty for this application. Check out the most recent video on my channel, I'm building a similar sized vehicle from scratch and show you how to mount the drive axle on bearings to get some truly ridiculous articulation with even weight on each tyre. It's a quick and cheap way to get good traction in all conditions. I don't want to poach from your viewer base so won't be offended if you hide this comment, but you should check out the build, you'd like it I think.
