Everything Black is one of the first Monstercat songs I've heard, before I even knew what a "Monstercat" was, and it was a friend that showed me it so I have a soft spot for it, really good track that still holds up imo

notaker is the best at his craft. no one can match the amount of worldbuilding and degree of atmosphere he achieves in his eps. i feel like listening to his best songs (like melophonic and wuyd) would sound so much more triumphant and fulfilling if people listened to it in the context of their respective eps. then again, they’re already to tier tracks on their own soooo

Not a fan of Unlike Pluto, idk why but his stuff never appealed to me. Rootkit is kind of hit or miss for me, although he has many more hits than misses. Notaker tho is one of my favorite artists on the label, really love his production style and to me the spacey/dreamy atmosphere he builds is such a joy to listen to. One of my biggest wishes monstercat-wise is for Notaker to make a extended version of Just Close Your Eyes. The track sounds like the stuff dreams are made of lol. The song now could be the intro/build, then add some vocals and a drop and that would be a banger, but that's just a pipe dream xD My favorites here are: Rootkit: Voyage, Build the Cities rmx, Real Love Notaker: idk man all of them are sooo good, I love all of them except Gems

10:54 TBH I'm not really a big fan of Notaker's in general, but most of his stuff I can really appreciate being unique and all. But Too Smooth isn't one of them, well mostly because of the horrible vocals

Unlike Pluto: 6. Sweet I hate the lyrics too much to put this any higher. 5. Waiting For You I can see the appeal, but I've never really been a fan of this kind of funky music. 4. Someone New I like this one a bit better than the above two, mainly for the reasons you listed above. 3. Found You I used to like this a lot more, but it fell off for me. 2. Everything Black Iconic vibey banger. 1. Searching For You Same #1 lets goooo Rootkit: 17. Elevate I'm sorry, but I just can't enjoy this lead, it genuinely makes me want to throw up when I hear it, and for that reason, this is in my top 5 least favorites on the entire label. 16. Strung Out I really despise deep house, and for that, I despise most of Rootkit's music. This is the worst offender in my opinion. When it comes to deep house, I hardly ever enjoy the melody, so it usually comes down to how much I like the lead, and in this case, the lead is not good at all. 15. Build The Cities (remix) Not good 14. Concrete Jungle Not good 13. Levitate Not good 12. Real Love Not good 11. Ambush Eh 10. Voyage Better than most of his house. 9. Good 2 Go Of Rootkit's deep house, this is easily the least offensive in my opinion. I can actually kinda get down with this one, but not really. 8. Taking Me Higher Kinda vibey ngl 7. Oh You A bit boring, but at least it's not house. Also, it's vibey. 6. Carry Me Away Again, I don't really have anything to say about this other than it's vibey. 5. Wildfire I used to be completely indifferent on this song, but it's kinda grown on me a little bit. The melody is decent, and it's sorta catchy. Still not the biggest fan of it, though. Yeah, and this is #5. I really don't like Rootkit. 4. Follow You (remix) Solid track. 3. Too Late Even more solid track. 2. Do It This alternates between #2 and #1 frequently, because I can rarely decide which one I like better. Right now, I think it's #2. 1. Against The Sun I refuse to believe that this masterpiece came from the same guy who made Elevate. Notaker: 18. Wake Up, You're Dreaming Oh, so that's how this list is gonna go. I genuinely feel bad about putting this at the bottom, but I've never really understood the appeal in it. Granted, Notaker is in my top 10 favorite artists on the label, so he doesn't really have any songs that are downright bad. 17. Each Other This is just really boring, and the vocal performance adds nothing imo. 16. Shimmer I used to love this, but it fell off hard. 15. Too Smooth The opposite of Shimmer. I used to hate this, but now I think that it's catchy, and fun. 14. Just Close Your Eyes I can't really say anything here that you haven't already said. 13. Melophonic A bit overrated imo, but still a vibe. 12. Into The Light VIP This is so atmospheric and I love it. 11. So Much Love Very dark and atmospheric. If it weren't so repetitive, I would place it even higher. 10. The Longest Night Such a journey. 9. Into The Light Doesn't really stand out much in his discography considering he has so many songs that sound like this, but that doesn't make it any less good. 8. From Dust & Ashes Say what you want, but I have always loved this, and most likely always will. 7. Who I Am Everything here is great. 6. Only In My Dreams The best on the EP, fight me. 5. Saving Light (remix) Super dark and gritty and awesome. 4. Terra The top 4 is always changing. This is a masterpiece. I consider it to be Infinite's little brother. 3. Gems You may not like this, but I'm a sucker for long, atmospheric, dreamy progressive music like this. 2. The Storm I can never decide if I like this or Infinite better, but right now Infinite is the winner. 1. Infinite Not really anything to say here, other than this is his magnum opus in my opinion. Wow, that was a long comment. Sorry.
