The softening of Godzilla is actually culturally fascinating. Its Japan slowly coming to terms with just destruction in general. It started as just being about nuked but ended up being about how castatrophes like earth quakes are neutral forces and inherent to japanese life.

I'm surprised the little fabric pieces on the Lady Milk Godzilla toys don't bust into flame because of the sparking mechanism. Are they cold sparks? I was always afraid they'd burn me when I was little, so I never bought any open spark toys. Also, the Godzilla punching hand would be the weirdest one of those I ever saw...if I didn't wind up getting these Garfield butting head toys with lollipops in their bases. The Garfield alone makes it weird, but being a vehicle for candy is just bizarre.

Even the Tarzan brand used to be the world’s biggest merchandise empire from the thirties to sixties (currently it’s just Pokemon though), but had to postpone so many canon lore updates until the 2020s because not only was it filled with weird merch, it also was shamelessly marketed in a way similar to Pokemon. No wonder why the Disney’s Tarzan movies tend to have more surviving fan art than the (admittedly much more bastardised) Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies before them.

Why is it that every toy collector who gets one of those "pull back and let it roll" toys also uses them on a felt or fuzzy tabletop? Every one of those toys I had growing up explicitly says NOT to do that because it makes it easier for the wheels to get clogged up with dust and hair. You're supposed to use them on flat, smooth surfaces, like a tile floor or a bare wooden table.
