It sure looks cool but I have a hard time understanding the pricing here. You could literally get a Herman Miller Chair for this price instead which is like a max level office chair and therefore much better for your health.

The fabric they use is military grade(same stuff they use in humvees) which means these things are not going to tear or wear out without you trying to damage them. They're also designed with simming in mind, namely a thin back so your elbows can go back while using joysticks, a gap between the legs for a center mount joystick, quick-toolless release armrests, wheel locks and pillar locks to prevent moving while using a rudder. Not to mention the whole thing is designed to work with their custom sim hardware mounting system. it's effectively a simpit on wheels.

@@kensmith2829 If I take a look at other chair manufacturers, artificial leather is one of the cheaper options for chair material. Regardless if the term "military grade" is used, Monstertech only offers a warranty for 2 years which is vastly below industry standard for this price range and does not impy confidence in the long term usage of their own product at all. With the features you mentioned I could maybe understand a price of about 600 bucks at most, but 1k? No way!

A bit of a price increase would be understandable (if you were to be fine with the base chair price which I am not), but over 200 bucks for a different color palette is not "a bit".

Not really and yes. They have plenty of those chairs already in their catalog above 899 and only a few below. Seems to fit right into their other products from a price perspective. It's a pretty niche product though, a gaming chair with alu profile mounting options and a center-stick cutout. And all in MT quality. Do you get good value for your money? Most likely not, but it's certainly is a high-end option for people with not enough space for a proper cockpit build. And the gear you mount on that chair is usually more expensive than that chair. ;-)

That being said, this chair is extremely comfortable. I bought it expecting it to be just for my simpit, but it ended up becoming my daily driver.

Seems like a lot of scratch for what you get. By the time you add 2 mounts and the brakes that's a more than proper ergo chair that'll last 2 decades or an actual simpit, possibly both. I know it's boutique but damn, feels like you should at least get the mounts bundled. Still, they look cool with the branding and people will buy them, so good luck to them, still a very cool product.

Just read up on it (the chair), there is a "mention" of the Velcro patch on the order site but no mention of any sort of "custom patch" when spending $1100+. Only "Interchangeable Velcro patch on the back", so we have to source our own patches?

For people complaining about price I can tell you this much, I was a sucker and went with the "cheap" route and bought $450 a Secret Lab chair. I have back problems from it. It's a pile of trash. There's no cushioning in the seat itself, my old basic office chair was more comfortable. Don't cheap out on your chairs. 1000 bucks truly isn't outrageous to ask for a quality chair. The 3 things in life you shouldn't cheap out on are your bed, your shoes and your chair as you spend the majority of your life in all 3.

I'm sorry but I live in the south and aint no way in hell anyone in the south, even in the dead of winter, is getting a chair that has wool or what appears to be wool as a seat cover. I got my gaming chair a few years ago and I use it probably 12+ hours a day at my computer and it only cost $600. Before that I used an executive chair and while the seat was still good after a couple years of continuous use the arm rest were peeling pretty badly and causing issues so I upgraded. I could tell instantly the seat was not as good as I had though but I still have it out in my garage when messing with my lawnmower or what not. I saw the prices for the chairs that they have and sorry I can't see the justification especially from a company that puts out ships on a website for several hundred dollars. I mean for a company that has over $700 million for an alpha game and is still making money on jpegs you would think they could partner for cheaper chairs that have equal if not better quality. I say better only cause I don't know the actual quality from looks.

As someone with a PPL and many flight hours in very warm and freezing cold areas as well, I can assure you that lamb wool on a pilot seat is somewhat like a natural air conditioning for your back. Even better than actively ventilated seats. There is a reason why many pilot seats have wool on them. 🐑

Those armrests hurt like hell, I was bruising my elbows and had no idea it was from the chair, after meeting with multiple doctors it was determined that I needed to add cushions to the armrests, 3 weeks of healing (not using the chair) and I returned to good health

@@NOOBIFIER1337 they push against the arm tendon in a specific spot when you have your joysticks mounted for use on the chair that resemble symptoms of tennis elbow, I used the chair for months with symptoms progressively getting worse. I stopped using the chair under doctors recommendation and immediately I started to feel better returning to 100% after six weeks. I Then mounted gel cushions to the armrest and have happily been using the chair for the past couple years without issue. I have spoken to numerous individuals who complain of similar issues and have asked me how I corrected the arm issue. I Do not believe this to be an isolated issue unique to me.
