At $20, Mont Blanc Individuel is a great “no-risk” high reward fragrance. It just smells good. It’s very “people friendly”...not weird, not unusual, not niche’, just pleasant and inviting.

I think Mark's point is that people erroneously consider Individuel to be a knockoff of Original Santal when the opposite is true. The same is also true of Le Male and Cuba Gold, interestingly enough. The cheaper one predates the expensive knockoff.

Yeh I agree. I own aventus which is obviously is really good but I'm looking for something else in the creed line and I remember smelling silver mountain water last year and enjoyed it a lot. Also Himalaya but not as much.

I own 3 (Virgin island water, Silver mountain water & Millesime imperial) and rate all 3 highly! Creed get a lot of hate but there's no denying how pleasant & unique they are. I have been lucky and got good longevity from them too, especially Millesime imperial which went past 12 hours for me!

I tried the clones of Creed and have pretty much given up. Creed is still the best and while I do get disappointed with longevity, I just get a travel atomizer. I will still buy Creed because they are just the best.

I think OS smells better as well, I find MBI headache inducing even though I have gotten a number of unsolicited compliments by random women while wearing MBI out. I just refuse to spend Creed money on cologne when there are so many not just good, but excellent fragrance options for $50 or less.

Bloated Tony Danza Yeah, I've gotten compliments from both... more with OS, but I've never bought a fragrance just because it's known as a "compliment getter". I always buy scents that I like and think are bottle worthy. Even if all the reviewers/people are raving about a certain fragrance, I'll still sample it myself before making up my mind. I always buy clothes and shoes that I like, wear a hairstyle that I like and not what's trending so why buy scents based on whether it garners compliments or not? It's not like she's complimenting your looks or body is it? It's a material thing which millions of men around the world can buy as well. And just because a women compliments you on your fragrance doesn't mean she's attracted to you or wants to sleep with you. If she's not attracted to you to begin with and you wear Aventus or Sauvage, it doesn't mean she'll fall in bed with you. I always wondered about some of these men in the community that are all about compliments, compliments... some that'll wear something they don't like as long as women like it. Ok, if they happen to get a few compliments...so what? Are they on a high for the rest of the day? Are they hoping and waiting for a few compliments to fly their way every time they're in public? Just wear what you love bro and be confident.. that's all that matters.

Very average longevity for Individuel? I spayed in on my wrist at 8am when readying for work yesterday. In bed I got a whiff at midnight. 26 hours on, I still have a strong skin presence. That's what I call great longevity. It's in my Top 10 and for the price it's a no-brainer.

Mr Smelly, awesome video and perfectly objective. I owned Mont blank Individuel, one spray and gave it away. I wasn't even interested in keeping it among my collection. I also jeard that, Dunhill Desire was similar to Creed's OS, so i got that one instead and kept it and, only used it twice; not impressed but, it's good enough to keep around. Keep up the awesome job!

Good review...but....has Individuel been reformulated? My 2012 bottle has exceptional performance....beastly projection and longevity. Most earlier reviews of the fragrance on youtube have a similar account of very good or 'beast mode' (to quote the Fragrance Bros) performance from Individuel. I agree with them wholeheartedly. In fact most state that its performance is much better than OS. Hence the speculation that reformulation may be an issue with the juice you have reviewed. Possibly. Secondly...as far as value for money...certainly with the 2012 juice...I cant think of anything comparable....not even close. An exceptionally well blended and very nonlinear fragrance at its price point.

I'm with you...really like Individuel for day-to-day grab-ass bullshit whereas I love Original Santal - just a step up in quality and performance IMO. Also, I recently opened the bottle of Opulent Shaik No 77 I purchased back in the Fall for a special to be determined occasion. Anyway, it reminded me of Original Santal, but they were certainly different. I own/wear a ton of fragrance and my girlfriend usually says "Its okay" or "its nice" to many of my heavy-hitter panty-droppers...or nothing all since she have a particularly sensitive nose. However, when she smelled Opulent Shaik (after saying what a tacky albeit opulent bottle, coffrett and box it came paced in) she said that it was the best fragrances I have ever worn. Yikes! I checked my fragrance database and realized that I haven't even worn Original Santal in more than year because I kind of got tired of it one time (I love it but it never received a lot of attention from the ladies) and Individuel was a dumb reach. Anyway, stop-on review. Give Opulent Shaik No 77 if you really love Original Santal and are looking for a slightly different take on this scent genre. Cheers! Oh, I was at the gym today...doing massive back/biceps workout featuring lots of deadlifts and biceps negative and dropsets. What is that bullshit you're doing on a stationary bike? LOL!!!

I was a runner for many years and I can guarantee you'll will achieve much better cardio benefit from doing 50-minutes of high intensity interval resistance training than you could ever hope to achieve on the treadmill. Plus, I get my cardio from dancing and letting the ladies chase me. LOL! Cheers!

Original Santal is way way way better. Mont Blanc Individuel give me nausea. I easily paid the price difference (with a 35% discount) after smelling both. Thumbs up for Original Santal

Thank you! I thought I was the only one to think individuel has average, at best, performance. I think the longest it's lasted on me is 5 or 6 hours tops. I hear all this talk of it being a beast, or monster projector but I have bought 2 different bottles just to confirm (thought I had a bad batch).

@@paulmidgley8040 there was a formulation change. It used to be beast mode lasting 10+ hours, but since about 2016/2017 it's been the current formulation. It's always been a $20-25 fragrance, that doesn't have much to do with it when you've smelled the original formulation.

I only have Montblanc Individuel. Mine is from 2013 and it last easily 12+ hours. In fact after 12 hours and a shower I still can pick it up on my skin. My wife claims she can still smell it the next morning, 24h after application. I haven't finished my bottle yet but recently bought a new one. Curious to know if I get any difference on the performance. For years it was one of my top 3-5 Winter fragrances. I don't get the similarity with Joop at all.
