We got back from Glacier NP 4 days ago. Stellar experience!!!! Going-to-the-Sun Rd has now replaced PCH in Big Sur as our favorite drive in the US. Hiking was superb. Our weather in Sept 2022 was better than yours (we had highs in the 60s and 70s), but we had wildfire smoke. I enjoyed your photography, as well as huckleberry cobbler & ice cream!

Did you camping in the park with electricity.? We are planning a trip in September 2022 and concerned we will not find a campsite given its first come first serve camping only.

GLAD YOU LIKED IT... i lived near Glacier for 35 years (Whitefish). put on over 3000 trail miles, summitted peaks over 100 times, and camped under stars dozens and dozens of times. it is a spectacular place. sadly, it has been 'discovered' and the crowds became untenable. around 2000 the Logan Pass parking was filled by 9 am. by 2010, the Logan pass was filled by 7 am. by 2020 a vehicle pass system was installed to limit traffic. it just got insane. TOO MANY PEOPLE... the friendliness disappeared and the ugliness took over about 2015. i tolerated it for a few years, but finally had enough. mean, arrogant, pushy, wildlife ignorant, loud, rude folks became the norm.............. loving Ecuador now. good people. the best. better behaved than the rot at Glacier.

Really enjoyed the video! When did y’all visit Glacier? What route did y’all choose for the highline? We’re hiking pools necessary? Thanks ☺️

Thank you! We visited toward the end of September 2021. If you don't mind some activities and facilities beginning to close for the season, this is a perfect time to beat the crowds before the cold weather kicks in. For Highline, we started at Logan Pass and hiked out and back about 4 miles (8 total). With only one car and the shuttles being closed for the season, we didn't have the option to do the "loop" unfortunately. Still completely worth it. As for poles, Alex has fear of heights (or fear of falling, as he likes to say), so the hiking poles help him feel a little more balanced on the steep terrain. That said they are not at all necessary for this trail, and Jennie had no problem with the heights. The cable/cliff section was also not bad at all for either of us. Let us know if you two make it up there! Safe travels.
