We brought our whole family and stayed in Kalispell Montana July of this year for a week and went through glacier national Park but our favorite place was Bowman Lake it was so beautiful. We took kayaks out all the way down to the end then the wind picked up by mid-afternoon and it took us forever to get back. That is the most beautiful place that I have ever been to and you have to actually be there to understand how beautiful it truly is. We drove from Lone Grove Oklahoma. Have a blessed day my friends and enjoy God's beautiful country

Thank you. We don't have much experience camping in Glacier but most important thing is to keep your food inside a hard sided vehicle or box, never have it in your tent with you.

Thanks Matt & Cheryl for all of your videos we’ve watchedn and enjoyed. Although I have to say that technically the Going To The Sun Road does not connect West Glacier with East Glacier as Cheryl mentioned, but GTTSR connects West Glacier with Saint Mary on the east side of GNP. East Glacier is on Hwy 2 and is much closer to the Two Medicine Entrance into the Park, a beautiful area that now requires a 24 hour car pass as does Many Glacier. A new 2023 nuisance.

I’m disabled and can barely walk and was wondering which national park between Yellowstone or glacier would be the most enjoyable to visit mostly from scenic overlooks from your car.I visited rmnp in August and loved it even though bear lake was the longest hike I could take,256 feet one way lol, I’m subscribed and Love your channel.

Hey Dennis. Both parks are incredible to see from your car. If you would consider using a wheelchair, you’d be able to see alot of Yellowstone because so many of the trails and geyser basins are wheelchair accessible. If you are going to stay in your car, there isn’t a drive in Yellowstone that beats the GTSR in Glacier. However, that is one tricky question 😉 Yellowstone has a large variety of wildlife you can see from your car I’d love to know what you decide to do. Have an amazing trip either way

Many people go to Glacier solo. Hiking by yourself can possibly be dangerous though. To feel safest, it would be best to hike with someone or trail a group of people and stay "near" them to be safe.

Hi! I've been watching many of your videos over the past few days. My husband and I took a trip to Montana at the beginning of this month (we live in WI) and fell in LOVE with the mountains. 😍 We drove through Yellowstone one of the days we were there and are now planning to take a road trip there next summer with our six kids (they'll be ages 2-11 when we go). We are planning to do Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Glacier. Unfortunately, my husband is not able to take much more than one week off of work, so we need to squeeze that all into one week. Are your guides easy to modify if we can't spend the recommended amount of days in each park? Right now we're planning on 3 days in YS, 1 day in GT, and 2 days in Glacier. Does that sound like a good plan or would you suggest something different?
@WereintheRockies
@WereintheRockies Жыл бұрын
What a wonderful trip you have planned. The days you have allotted will work. Our guides are flexible and can be altered/cut short if needed. With the days you have allotted, I would purchase our Yellowstone Itinerary and our Glacier Itinerary. On your day in Grand Teton. Do the Jenny Lake, Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point hike. See our video about it here: wereintherockies.com/how-to-do-jenny-lake-video/

is the north fork road to Bowman relatively fine with a Subaru Crosstrek? I hear these horror stories about how you need a 4x4 vehicle back there
@WereintheRockies
@WereintheRockies 4 күн бұрын
Here's what the National Park says, "A four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle, and the ability to change a tire are recommended, as flat tires are a common problem. Vehicles over 21’ and/or trailers are not permitted on any roads in the North Fork, with the exception of private horse trailers accessing the Bowman horse corral." www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/northfork.htm#:~:text=A%20four%2Dwheel%20or%20all,accessing%20the%20Bowman%20horse%20corral. Good luck!

We’ll be coming to Glacier from North Dakota, then going down to West Yellowstone. Should we stay on the West or the East side of Glacier? We’ll be camping.
@WereintheRockies
@WereintheRockies Жыл бұрын
It might depend on how long your visiting Glacier? If you're staying for a couple nights, I'd sightsee some places in East glacier and stay one night there, then I'd drive the Going to the Sun road to West Glacier and stay a night there (and see some sights in the West Glacier area before heading to Yellowstone). If you're just passing through, either option is great.

You need a reservation to go to the north fork? When did that become a thing? Is it to reduce traffic?

Is there somewhere you can stand on a glacier?
@WereintheRockies
@WereintheRockies Жыл бұрын
To my knowledge you can't actually stand on one in Glacier National Park. Here is some information about it. www.nps.gov/glac/learn/nature/how-to-see-a-glacier.htm However, in Banff National Park, they have an experience where you can ride in a vehicle out onto the glacier, walk on it, and drink from it. We suggest people to do this experience in our Banff Travel Guide that is being released soon. See our travel guides: wereintherockies.com/store/
