I’d recommend getting rid of everything you don’t NEED and THEN find a spot for the things that are left. I’ve never seen someone with that many tall boots in the same color! 😂 Its so funny how different we all are. My blood pressure spikes way up when I see ALL. THIS. STUFF. Toss, donate, toss. I actually stopped breathing at one point when you were going through the entire deck of a 99 cent deck of cards. When you have THREE OTHER DECKS! Girl clear the door way area and start a TRASH, SELL and DONATE PILE! Label it with paper and tape it on the wall, so it reminds you where everything goes! Also it’s ready to go out the door! Put KEEP PILE in the rooms!

If y'all didn't see that Danna took all her stuff out of storage which was there for a long time. Come on, we ALL have these random items, duplicate items because, um yes it is in storage, and I need another one, and yes items that just get thrown in boxes and have to be exhumed eventually. Being the book lover that I am, I've decided to keep only the books I love and donate the rest. If you really need a specific book as props but you know you won't be reading it again, print the cover, which is certainly available on the internet and wrap it on another book you have. I have a reading journal so all I read is registered there, but I choose not to keep books I know I'll never read again, as they take a lot of space.

Getting it done! Keep it up! Don't fall into the "I'll do that another day" routine. Keep cranking on it. Otherwise it never gets done. Set a deadline. "2 weeks, I will have everything put away" (or at least living areas guest will see). Don't be afraid to throw things away. You haven't seen most of these things in forever, so toss it. Goodwill and recycle is nice, but take it from me, that leads to hording for we never actually get the time to take said things to good will or recycling and they just stay piled "over there". I'm going through a purge session now. It was hard at first, but the more crap I get rid of the better my overall spirit feels free. The clutter really works against your positive environment. I love your kitchen/pantry/dining area, it looks so calm and peaceful now. The feng Shui looks great. I wish that dam Steve would get off the couch, this is not a time to be watching football, lol. You sure have done a workout with all that moving. With the vase I think neither the roses or succulent, I think it needs a taller arrangement. If you have anymore gum leaves and some flowers that would match beautifully with the other one you have in that cute white jug. Congrats on finding some donations. Danna, I was in an abusive relationship and had to leave FAST. Everything crammed into a storage unit for 3 years while I finished my nursing degree. Unpacking a storage unit is emotional. Take your time and cleanse what you can to avoid the cost again come November. Sadly I threw out 75% of what I paid to store but I’m here to tell the story.

I'm a single woman in my 40s too and did something very similar 3 years ago (sold my house, moved, and downsized from a 3 bedroom townhouse to a 1 bedroom apartment!). It's a process, takes time but can absolutely be done. Just keep going at the pace that's right for you and it will all come together. You're doing an amazing job Danna! 💜💜

Danna, one box for garbage, one for donate, and one for storage. When you unpack something, immediately put it where it will belong. For instance, shoes. Take immediately to the closet. You may not keep them in the order you set them, but you can rearrange once they are all in there. That way you're not blocking the floor in your bedroom with them too. Also, its so much easier to makes decisions as you unpack, then to find a place for them just to trash or donate later. I really do wish I could help!! I know my comments sounds assholeish, i can just see how your brain works and you can spend the next 6 months unpacking and organizing or do it now as your go and have the time to actually enjoy your place instead of unpack and organize for the next 6 months. You deserve some time enjoying your life!!! You truly do!!

I went through my storage unit to gather things to sell at my friend's yard sale and I loaded my car with a ton of stuff.. I got half way to her house and then turned around and went right back to my storage unit to put it all back! 😂 I realized I didn't want to get rid of any of it. Most of it was brand new, and I'm just waiting until I get my own big house. I don't feel bad about keeping things. Like you said, not everyone can be a minimalist!!

I used to clear out storages for a living. 98% go unclaimed after 5 years or less. I’ve never been in one that didn’t either leak or flood (lots of times both), lots of times bug & rodent damage. And I’ve never heard of anyone being reimbursed. Nowadays I assist ppl who are overwhelmed with stuff, & unless it’s stored in climate control, new furniture doesn’t hold up under its own weight. Also, ppl’s taste change… most laugh at what they held onto & are pissed with themselves for paying to hold on to the stuff.

We are moving and did a curb alert (free stuff) . I posted a picture of a trailer full of some pretty nice things on marketplace and garage sale sites. It was all gone in 1 hour! It was SO fast and SO easy!

Hi. What i learned from moving is to put things inside other things like suitcases. Stack boxes in boxes etc when you save them. I moved 3 yrs ago and I still haven't Marie Kondoed. LoL My health took a turn so its killing me to not have my house organized. You are so energetic and strong you're getting there. Don't hurt yourself. Love the videos. They perk up my day.😊
