It’s so nice to watch videos of a fellow Rockhound who knows the correct definitions of the minerals. Cool stuff MRM. Keep making videos and I’ll keep watching. Colorado Rockhound.

It's melted silica from gaseous explosions in a volcano. Colors in it are other minerals melted into the mix. Sometime you find it in shapes indicative to a projectile with a tail then it cooled giving you those specific shapes frozen in time. Most look as though they a folded impossible knots. But most are from volcanoes or in the course of violent eruption events.

I just recently found you and I love your videos it’s amazing to me what you find in comparison to other rock Hounders on the Yellowstone. I think you should do an Etsy store named “rocks in the rough”. I would definitely purchase Jasper from you and other minerals. Just beautiful.

Do you like Jasper? I would love to mail you a piece of one of my finds. I'm too busy for Etsy, lol... I work at a hospital- so on the front lines with Covid right now. Rockhounding is where I find my peace on my days off ❤

@@MontanaRockMom wow that would make my day no I take it back it would make my month or more. I’m dealing with family court for nine years and the only way I find pieces rock hounding or watching these videos. I would love one of your beautiful pieces with yellow, green, red even blue if possible I love smooth pieces. Please take care of yourself be safe and take care of your family first and foremost. If you do ever get time to send out a piece I would love to pay for the postage I’m in Massachusetts. My email is powertrio@gmail.com. My email represents my kids and I. My ex has been trying to alienate my kids but we are strongly bonded so so far so good just dealing with injustice of a biased and abusive judge. Unfortunately my kids are miserable. 10 and 12 a boy and a girl Julian and Jocelyn they are amazing. I have a KZbin channel and made some videos before the abuse of judgment where I lost custody and was alienated from every aspect of my kids lives by a biased judge thank God I still see them but not near as much. Things have to get better in the world and I believe that they will. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Be safe.

@@MontanaRockMom I LOVE JASPER! I have two big hunks, (I mean big) and all I can do is display them whole. Found them up North by Taos Nm. But they are mostly red with a little yellow and green. I mean very little. If they look that way on the outside, do they look the same inside? I wish I could show them to you. I don’t see too much of the yellows around my neck of the woods, but maybe up north there would be some.
@MontanaRockMom2 жыл бұрын
@@veronicamoore3777 Veronica, it's so crazy about how rocks can look on the inside! It could be totally all red...or full of more yellow, green! Sometimes if I love a jasper on the outside, I won't cut it because I don't want to be disappointed if it's not as awesome on the inside.

Wow MRM, looks like it was an absolutely awesome bucket list day of rock hunting for sure!✔ Thank you very much for bringing us all along for the adventure. 👍 Couple questions if I may be so bold: One, the focus on your camera is excellent, are you using an iPhone for video or something like a dslr camera? Two, how many buckets did you fill?🤦♂️😂 I know personally that on days where I've stumbled into rockhounding nirvana❤, the time goes by so unbelievably fast and there never seems to be enough daylight or shocks in my Jeep to satisfy my insatiable appetite for beautiful chunks of earth sitting below our feet! Anyway, what a great day and those fortunate ones you took home now get to be loved and admired by many more folks than had ever known before so kudos for your efforts! Hope you have a super rest of your day and nice weekend ahead~

Thanks for all the great questions! Lately I have been using my Samsung Galaxy phone for video. I just upgraded from my Galaxy Note 9 (which I couldn't believe was so outdated!), to the Galaxy 20 Ultra- and the camera/video quality is unbelievable for a phone. I filled up 2 home depot sized buckets of rockhounding finds on my last trip and yes, that's only because I ran out of daylight 😜. I seem to give away so many of my finds though that I am always building back up my stash 🥰 I am certainly sad that the days are getting shorter. It blows my mind how what seems like 2 hours roaming around was actually 7 and I have to head back. Thanks again for all your kind words.

Billy, I am wanting to buy a slab saw before cutting some of my favorites. I have been using a wet tile saw with a diamond blade...but it just doesn't do that great a job. I love, love tumbling. It would be pretty fun though to get some nice slabs and polish them! What do you think?
