Kev Leahy and Ed Sellon are the last athletes standing in the Montane Arctic Spine Races 2024. We caught up with them at CP1 last night where they were in high spirits and feeling optimistic about pushing on to the next refuge hut along the Kungsleden. Daybreak this morning however found them hunkered down in the snow off the side of the one short road section of the race.
Our Media Team caught up with them to see how their night went and found them both happy, healthy and ready to make the most of the daylight hours.
Both are making good decisions and adapting to their circumstances.
Ed in particular seems buoyed by his roadside wild camping experience. He'd expressed some anxiety last night about managing all his kit admin without his teammates, but he's proved to himself he can take care of himself alone and he'll carry that confidence with him through the rest of his race.
