I am interested in these Montblanc fountain pens, but can’t afford them until I have saved up enough, so the fake ones could be a temporary option if they work well, just to get a feel for the shape.😊❤ Even if they are good quality, nothing compares to the “true” Montblanc sensation. That valuable emotion of the real deal. Thank you.🎉

The blue pen looks remarkably similar to the original. The blue one has "UPPER WIMPOLE STREET" on the body and "BAKER STREET" on the cap. The clip has a magnifying glass shape but no glass, and you can see the letters JB. The date on the cap is Oct 30, 1886. They got those details right. Upper Wimpole Street was the location of Conan Doyle's office as an ophthalmologist, JB is Joseph Bell, the person who served as an inspiration to Sherlock, and that is the date of the publication of A Study in Scarlet (or the date he received confirmation from the editors if I'm not mistaken). But the nib is wrong and, of course, the piston. It's funny that they just took a fake blue and repurposed it as a fake brown.

Yeah they didn't really seem to do anything to make the brown pen different and more like the Montblanc brown version of the pen. I guess you could call it a kind of lazy copy.

Doyle didn't start out as an author. He was a trained ophthalmologist, and tried to open a practice in London at 2 Upper Wimpole Street (then known as Devonshire Place). It was a failure, but he used the office and his ample free time to begin his work on the Sherlock stories. Great video, thank you

Finally, someone has put out a video that has had me wondering about this very subject. Dave, first let me say that your collection of fountain pens are amazing and are above top tier status, they are some of the most beautiful fountain pens I have ever seen, something that I will never be able to achieve. I can honestly say that I live vicariously through you. With that being said if a person has champagne taste but can only afford 99¢ beer, half off and on clearance prices, this would be the way to go. If these mb luxury fountain pens were around back when I first got into the hobby this would be "thee" collection to have, might not be the real deal but it would be real enough...and that's real.

Thanks Eddie, and do agree. The Chinese market of knock offs are becoming much better now days and I can see some getting into the hobby now just going for these as they look as good for a lot less.
