He's a saint for going through what he had to go through with The Ramones. I just read his book for the fourth time, I just can't get enough!

Memories of Ramones shows. Seen twice in Houston. Mondo Bizaro tour with Social Distortion opening. SD was decent, not exciting. Ramones were a blast. However the 2nd time seeing them on Acid Eaters tour was much better at the now closed Bayou City Theater. Place was packed, floor and balcony. A bar down the street had a sign "Wanna be sedated, come here after the Ramones." Frank Black from the Pixies opened. Everyone sat the entire time on the floor and in the seats/balcony while Frank was on. Frank said "I guess everyone is here to see the Ramones." Huge applause. I remember this show very well, show seemed to be an extra special night somehow. Johnny was actually smiling here and there throughout. Easily the most entertaining Ramones member, doing the spins, aggressive playing. A single spotlight went on Johnny and followed him as he ran up the front ramp/platform and played the chords during the Sedated solo, everyone went crazy and huge applause, you would've thought he was Yngwie in that moment from the reaction. The audience was all about Johnny that night. During shape of things to come, near the beginning pause section he does a pull down single note and people went nuts for it. In between songs Joey started singing "The stars at night are big and bright.....immediately everyone did the double clap and sang with him....”deep in the heart of Texas, Joey and everyone sang a few more lines of the song...then Joey introduced as "yea and I wanna live" sort a jab there Joey? :) Chinese Rocks was great, audience sang nearly every word. 7 and 7 is super intense live. The energy level never let up.

I'm not a big KZbin commenter either but I wanted to sincerely thank you for your channel. It's been a source of entertainment for me while dealing with some family issues this week. You've also turned me on to some new artists I wasn't alive to experience back in the glory years. I wish you all the best and continued success.

I met Monte back in Fall of '86 when I was involved with the concert committee at the University of Bridgeport for our Halloween Ramones concert show. Didn't meet the band, but we students were happy to take their gear out of their trailer and move it on to the stage. Monte was cool, and told us where to put the stuff. He was very orderly. This was a real local gig for the Ramones.

Hi Jason, I've said it before but I have to say it again, this is your best interview yet. I liked hearing not only Monte's insights, but your personal stories with the Ramones too. Being originally from New York I was fortunate enough to see them a couple of times and one time Joey sprayed me in the face with a big bottle of seltzer. It burned my eyes but it was great!

Mr Green I’ve really been enjoying your content. You’re very patient & fair with your guests. You create an open & non judgmental environment that allows for things to happen organically & its never “all about you”. Your wit is informed, quick & joyously ridiculous.Continued success. PS - I played with Walter Lure a few times - thanks for remembering him

Hey Jason.. great interview. It’s obvious how excited you were to do this. From start to finish The Ramones story is so grass roots and Monte really was the 5th Ramone. I read and loved his book. All the T-Shirt talk reminded me of Richie’s unfortunate dilemma. Richie’s book and Mickey Leigh’s book are both also great. I was lucky enough to see them live with all the drummers( except Clem.. Marky before and after) and they were all different but cardio blessed and great. As you mentioned Tommy had the touch and really was the architect of the Ramones feel. Like The Monkees they were unique personalities for sure , that came together and made magic together. Thank you.

It read' 'Adios Amigos' the show was originally scheduled at 'Billboard Live' but the change venues because they wanted a bigger place to film a live concert. 'The 2263rd Show. Jason do you have something to trade for it? I might
