- Subsequently owned by TV star Guy Williams, of Zorro and Lost in Space fame
- Restored by Ferrari Classiche to McQueen’s original specification; Classiche certified in the autumn of 2013
- Currently owned by F1, Indy, and Le Mans racer Vern Schuppan
- With its history confirmed by Ferrari, the car was proudly displayed by the Maranello company in its own museum exhibit, From Cinecittà to Hollywood

Steve McQueen is my working class hero....from stripping asbestos out of scrap ships to 275's, 250 Lussos and super models... He lived a bit for all of us less fortunate.

That was Steve Thru and thru... He was VERY nice to me, Sebring 1970 But, then,I took his mind off the broken ankle. While Poppa Ben welded a dead pedal in the 908/2 So he could rest the cast on it, down the straights. I THANKED him for the box of POINTS for my 1949 India 249 Scout Sent to me GRATIS thru Sam Pierce and Northway Nick's Indian Sales.. I STILL have that box, I THINK, with his airport address... We talked Old China Hands The San Pablo and how the ferry was found to build it up from.. AT least I HOPE it distracted him... He was amazed a kid would the history... My bother was USAF Intel and gave me books on China, 1911 - 1949. Steve was One Good Marine And regular Joe to us all... I never got to thank him for making LeMans.. FORZA FERRARI !! jcarroll330P4@

That's not a "Spyder", not a Convertible! Vicki sat on top of a convertible in that scene from the "Thomas Crown" movie and it also wasn't Steve McQueen who drove it in that movie. It was Vicki's car!

Sadly I agree. There are „normal“ 275s and there is ONE Steve-McQueen-275. All the „normals“ can be restored and look just gorgeous. But the two or three special ones, those that won races or had special owners should be preserved as they are. If I had the „Steve-McQueen-Car“, I might even put some transparent cover over it just to preserve the patina. And it would be even better with some dirt from Steve`s last cigarette in the ashtray.

The original steel knock-off wheels that came stock on the 4 valve where the better wheel. They were lighter and stronger and stayed in balance MUCH longer.

Two women drove the NART Spyder to a GT win at Sebring, 1970 Macluggage and/or Mims...I forget.. Car DRIVEN down from NY... Mufflers off! One set of tires... Against a pro driven GT-350... lap after lap.. 3:20 - 3:25 Testa-Rossa Times! AC Cobras GS Corvette 1964... Box Stock! About the LAST time one could do that.

Why ever not ? Just because a car costs a lot doesn't make it any more expensive to mend. It still costs the same amount to straighten out whether it's worth ten thousand or ten million. Plus the guy with ten million can find a few thousand for the repairs a lot more easily than Joe Average. People who claim that their car is "worth too much to drive", never intended to drive it in the first place - they'd be just as happy with a painting or property, as long as it goes up in price.
