I agree about Baryak, they have the most potential I hope Montesong chooses right because it's international audiences voting at Eurovision, not locals! They might like Balkan ballads over electronic rock music, but Dva srca has the most appeal

I approve this format to approach national finals ! We love a Tom that's not drained from copyright battles. I agree that the Baryak song has the biggest potential, I hope that one makes it, but who am I, just someone who loved Fulenn, Eaea and Ulveham, I'm like the antithesis of a eurovision jury.

Baryak are easily my fave. Theirs was the only song that stood out to me as something unique and interesting. The almost post-rock elements blending with the Balkan harmonies are great. I did also enjoy banging my head to Bend 9 but agree that it's not really a good song 😂

I will say this lineup is very competent considering that Montenegro doesn't really have a big music industry like Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia do. I'd even argue these songs are (sort of) stronger than some of Dora's recent lineups.

Disagree when it comes to that comparison with Dora... They have to perform this live firstly... Before Dora live, studio versions of Gasoline, Dijamanti, Lying Eyes and Tišine were promising. Of course, not even close to BL but there were some possible ESC qualifiers.

Baryak 2 srca is the only song that could bring Montenegro to Final. With a good staging. I think the very selective and unique lyrics could have a double meaning, but I am too shy to reveal what i think it is. Đurđa, Anatasija and Kejt are interesting song but they would struggle in semi final , I am afraid. i hope Montenegro will get into Final cause they are a comeback country next year. Kejt is maybe just my guilty pleasure, but I like it.

For me, its an absolute shame that Montenegro have come back with literal middle of the road meh-ness. There isn't a single song out of the entire pack of songs that I truly cared for, but if I really had to pick one, it would be Baryak. It has the most potential out of all of the songs for me.

Yeah to be honest though with only 32 valid submissions, I think it was gonna be hard for them to have had something really strong. I still think they probably then should’ve gone for a smaller final and had maybe 8 to 10 songs so that the average quality would’ve gone up a bit

Just to mention bc you said Knez is an established artist yes, but Sergej is as well and arguably more famous, with more hits than Knez. Montenegro qualified for the final 2 times with their 'only' established artists. As far as Montesong goes, the most famous name is Milena Vucic, she was very popular during 2000s, Isak is kinda famous for participating in Serbian show and Nina is 'a known' name (probably bc of Eurovision) but without hits... Montenegro music scene is non existent today, the most popular music there is Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian... Knez and Sergej for example both live and work in Belgrade. Also KEJT is pronouced KATE it's just spelled as it's being spoken, it's funny how you pronouced it 😂 Ps. Verica is not VeriKa, it's Veritsa.

Out of all the songs, Škorpija is pretty much the only one that stays on my head after listening to it so not surprised it has the most views even if some people are saying its most viewed because of more advertising by the artist (or something) than the rest of the songs? Most of them are quite forgetable tbh. Some of the songs have the vibe that they could be very great if they get epic staging, but it would require some Ukraine or Serbia level staging, which im not sure if Montenegro is capable of doing. I think Dobrodošli would probably be best for Eurovision and could easily get to Grand Final if live singing and staging is nailed.

I love the female ballads but like you said, they are simular and I don’t think they will do much at Eurovision. Baryak is the best song to stand out a bit and get noticed imo

People are sleeping on Isak. He was on a famous Serbian singing show Zvezde Granda, the same one Zorja was on. Dude can sing. He's a recognisable name in the Balkans and people love him. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins based on his name alone.

If who ever gets selected, they must revamp it, and correctly. You can’t have a 2 1/2 minute build up in a 3 minute song for Eurovision. The song needs to go somewhere and grab the listener. There should be a good hook or a powerful vocal moment. The 4/4 wimpy snare pattern isn’t going to get the song to qualify let alone win the contest.

Isak amd kejt are my favorite. Tamara is also good but i hipe we send kejt. Nina žižić is overrated and might win just by her name . Kejt is the best option. Isal and Tamara are also gonna qualify easily.

At last. The phoney war is over and the season starts here Hurrah! So good to have you on form Tom. Totally disagree with you and everyone in the community here 😊😊 I have Verica as my number 1. I can't say I love it but it stands out to me. 2nd is Miss Drum and Bass. My kinda sound Commendations also for Anastajiya and Tamara. If all else fails Montenegro should go for rich vocals and hope they can elevate a sound with a revamp and good staging. However, I do agree with you about being underwhelmed with Nina Zizic and her song. Just not for me. All I can say is, it's great to have Montenegro back at the contest and their choice won't be the worst entry of the year. Also, Serbia must be totally thrilled to be getting a 24 point head start. 😁 Great vid Tom and let the fun and games truly begin ☺️☺️

I think Verica was the one who had a very interesting beginning with the traditional instrument, but then it fizzled out? So I really like that instrument that she starts with so if she could have just capitalised that on more then I think the song could have been something stronger
