Great video man glad to see someone joining the vfx fold. What helped me when I was starting was focusing more on environment creation and creating realistic scenes. To this day I still have not really learnt character animation. Davinci resolve is great for compositing and is a great video editor overall. In my opinion Nuke is a little overkill for most renders unless you plan to be a compositing artist.
