This video isn't so much about the blender, but the videography. The plot, scenes, lights, colours, the whole picture start to look very cinematic. its not just about Smeaf doing some crazy stuff in blender and sharing it. is it the beginning of new, videographic smeaf era? anyway, I loved the video, great job!

I know this video has been up a while and you probably don’t check the comments anymore, but if you happen to… Can you explain how you did the lights under the fabric at 7:51? It looks absolutely perfect. I had to go talk to my Google and compare it, it’s literally the same. And maybe also… how did you get your fabric to look so good? For me, surfaces with small details (bump, normal or displacement maps) never show very well. This was lovely. Great freaking work.

@ExacoMvm7 ай бұрын
@@31pas0 Yeah definitely, all the marketing strats aside this is just $100-500 commercial on technical level. However it could get quite expensive like up to $50K if complicated advanced VFX were introduced with far better art direction.
@jbdh65105 ай бұрын
clickbait
@ExacoMvm5 ай бұрын
@@31pas0 I wonder what you could actually offer in this type of commercials that's so valuable besides the graphics? I mean there's not much room for brainstorming something to make it sell better if it's mostly just animated product viz with some voiceover/text. On another hand I get those different type of ads which lets say could be some food for kids product and you then have 1min~ Pixar/DreamWorks style furry eating and complimenting it in the commercial but most commercials are simply all about the graphics, cool scenes and VFX.

What made me curious here was the budget. So, 15-second 3D product videos for big brands like Google, even if "relatively simple" like your example, cost 100,000K? Does this value represent an average, or was it just a random figure? A clickbait?

The reason it might look simple to you is because you aren't factoring in the years of hardwork and dedication that it took for Smeaf to get to this level. So yes advertisers need to spend every penny cause it's worth it.
