Thanks for the breakdown. I'm actually glad that your numbers came out a little differently so that we could see both sides of it. Great video! I like how you provide a very honest and realistic picture, including the mention of food prices varying by region. Big temperature difference with Tuxtla Guttiérez just 60 km away (not a pretty city but the evenings in Plaza de la Marimba with music and dancing are great fun.) Give yourself a good 10 days or more to explore and relax instead of taking a whirlwind tour. Best way to travel is with the taxis colectivos. Not the most comfortable but the surest way to get past the roadblocks. Not sure if the situation is better now but in 2018 when I went it was a real issue

Easy for me to say: I live in wine country and we export fruits and veggies grown locally, to US: A good bottle of local wine is well under 100 pesos. "Expensive" items are avocado, walnuts, almonds, honey and meat. My usual shopping is less than 200 pesos for bags of produce. I grow some onions, beets, potatoes, etc not to save but for fresh and organic. Yes, it is very in-expensive, but without friends and family? Who needs it?? hehehe. If anyone doesn't believe me they can Google Grant's supermarket in Princeton West Virginia and click on weekly ads and take a look at the current prices this week.
