The market is not necessarily a rollercoaster if you know your way around the market, there are various opportunities in the present market to accrue good profit, If you are not too savvy with the market, just buy and hold on strong companies with good earnings, or consult with advisors on ETFs and actively managed funds. that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 30% capital growth minus dividends.

Buying of just any ETFs is easy, but buying the right one without a time-tested strategy is incredibly hard. Hence which is best to buy now or put on a watchlist? I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio for sometime now, my major challenge is not knowing the best entry and exit strategies.

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since 2023 January. I believe that is the most effective way to go about

By asking a tax professional about minutia related to ETFs, all that you learn is that the tax professional charges a huge amount per hour and he knows almost nothing about the subject matter! You are literally paying him to learn something he didn't know. So never ask a tax professional about anything related to investments other than the most basic questions!

PCEF, is basically a more diverse version of the YYY fund. The volatility was much lower on PCEF as compared to YYY, during the recent Covid down turn. I use it as one of my base funds. I own KBWY, but I also own REM, as a way to diversify my real estate holdings. It pays dividends quarterly, instead of monthly, which I don't like, but its yield and value have held up and recovered much better than KBWY.

I experimented with PFFA. I thought that since it invests in preferred stocks that it would hold up pretty well in a market crash. Turned out not to be the case in the C-19 crash. It also has a very high expense ratio. Not recommended despite the high dividend yield. It lowered its dividend after the crash and also started returning capital last December.

Which is better for a retiree QYLD or NUSI?
@goliathonscave9834
@goliathonscave9834 3 жыл бұрын
As of 4/27/2021: NUSI 7.65% dividend yield, QYLD 12.14% dividend yield . The advantage of NUSI is that it has better downside protection, but clearly not as much upside. It is likely that the buying of PUT options, while offering safety in a bear market, is hurting it's upside. Personally, I would prefer QYLD in my retirement portfolio and go with something other than NUSI for diversity such as RYLD or GLDI (a gold covered call etn with a 16.4% yield)

Don’t the same dividend tax rules apply to an IRA as with a Roth IRA? I’m currently in HDV NUSI QYLD and SPHD. I have purchased all of these within a rollover IRA. I am using the DRIP method for all listed ETFs. Will I have to pay extra dividend taxes when I sell shares to withdraw funds?
@DividendBull
@DividendBull 3 жыл бұрын
When you invest in REITs or anything else that pays dividends classified as ordinary income, you'll never have to pay taxes for these dividends inside of a Roth IRA. With a Roth your money grows tax free and you can make tax free withdrawals after 59 1/2. But with a trad the money grows tax deferred and whenever you make a withdrawal after 59 1/2 its taxed. Those are the biggest differences between the two.

So if dividends are taxed as regular income. If your retired can you use those dividends to invest in a Roth Ira.

IRAs have to come from EARNED income not interest or dividend income. Speak to a tax advisor.

Use the money you get from the prison pipeline ( if its a good cashback deal ) and then you create your own thing and help kids redirect their lives? It would probably give a sense of fulfillment ?

I agree! SDIV and DIV are two of my favorite Korean ETF's from Global X (Mirai Asset). If I remember correctly, SDIV pays out 9 cents every single month just like EMD does?

'You can't touch the money until you're 59 and a half" As a basically 27 year old, I irrationally despise the idea of these retirement accounts. If something makes you wait over 120% of your entire life to let you do a thing, It's probably a scam.
