Which is better for a retiree QYLD or NUSI?
@goliathonscave98343 жыл бұрын
As of 4/27/2021: NUSI 7.65% dividend yield, QYLD 12.14% dividend yield . The advantage of NUSI is that it has better downside protection, but clearly not as much upside. It is likely that the buying of PUT options, while offering safety in a bear market, is hurting it's upside. Personally, I would prefer QYLD in my retirement portfolio and go with something other than NUSI for diversity such as RYLD or GLDI (a gold covered call etn with a 16.4% yield)

Don’t the same dividend tax rules apply to an IRA as with a Roth IRA? I’m currently in HDV NUSI QYLD and SPHD. I have purchased all of these within a rollover IRA. I am using the DRIP method for all listed ETFs. Will I have to pay extra dividend taxes when I sell shares to withdraw funds?
@DividendBull3 жыл бұрын
When you invest in REITs or anything else that pays dividends classified as ordinary income, you'll never have to pay taxes for these dividends inside of a Roth IRA. With a Roth your money grows tax free and you can make tax free withdrawals after 59 1/2. But with a trad the money grows tax deferred and whenever you make a withdrawal after 59 1/2 its taxed. Those are the biggest differences between the two.
@Kemo_Robby3 жыл бұрын

@DividendBull3 жыл бұрын
When you receive dividends/distributions in a rollover IRA you are not taxed for them when they pay or if you have them DRIP. Whatever is inside of your rollover the only tax you'll pay is your current income tax whenever you decide to make a withdrawal from it.
