Dividends from SCHD are generally taxed at the qualified dividend rate, often providing a tax advantage over ordinary income rates for many investors. However, current market attention is centered on Nvidia, which has significantly contributed to the S&P 500’s recent earnings growth. Nvidia’s stock, up over 90% year-to-date, gained another 2.5% on Monday in New York, propelling the Nasdaq 100 to a new record high. I’m actively seeking new opportunities to enhance performance within my $350K portfolio and open to strategic ideas.

Hearing insights from seasoned investors who have successfully navigated market downturns is always reassuring. It can be challenging to see your portfolio fluctuate from gains to losses, but if you focus on high-quality companies and remain committed to your strategy, you'll be in a strong position to weather market volatility.

I regret not investing in Bitcoin earlier and instead keeping my money in a High-Yield Savings Account (HYSA). Now, with $200k ready to invest, I'm cautious about avoiding FOMO and the risk of buying at market peaks. What's the smartest way for a beginner to approach the crypto market?

With dividend yields this high it doesn't matter if the payouts are volatile, one must simply not be dependent on one weeks dividend and instead rely on a longer term average yield. Using options on the indices would also hedge against a bubble pop which is the big risk with these funds that you alluded to.

Out your head down and go to work and start investing the extra money after necessities right now. One of my biggest financial mistakes was not starting high-yield dividend investing earlier to secure a steady retirement income. Consistently investing in dividend-paying stocks and reinvesting the dividends is a powerful way to compound your wealth over time.

It's great that you're thinking long-term about retirement. However, achieving a 30% return consistently is very ambitious and comes with significant risk. I'm working my balls off to get my position in SCHD to $100k by the end of the year. I work M-F. Did a 17 hour day on Monday and a 17 hour day on Thursday with regular days, some 10 hours in-between. At a $50k now position with $25k in cash sitting on the sidelines and $2,500-$3,000 a month going into my brokerage. I came from nothing. I started working at McDonald's when I was 15. I never went to college. But I got this fucking work ethic that I've had since my first day on the bun machine at McDonald's, I devised an entire more productive system on my first day. It's all you need. No days off, never took a sick day (I'm 47, took one day off when my dog died and my job gave me shit, after 2 years of never calling off or being late... that was the kick that got me to leave, I put in my 2 weeks the next day.). I've never asked for a raise, only have asked for more hours. I have no debt. Yea I sold a lot of weed in the 2000's, but even that, it blew up because I was the guy that always had product and would serve you 4am-2am and even get up for you from 2am-4am. Never fucked anyone over. All while I worked as a full restaurant manager 4pm-11pm. Get your side hustle on, whatever it is. I've invented and produced dog toys, sold counterfeit Phiten necklaces online, ran a casino... I knew I was fucked by not having a degree or even a real career. I made pizza, worked for DHL, did video game testing, worked for a dog adventure place in Malibu, worked as Parking Enforcement in WeHo. Now I work in Cannabis wholesale distro... again. I make $80k in Los Angeles. I have a real viable path to being a millionaire by 60-65, multi-millionaire by 72-75. The calculations put $100k of SCHD at $111k after year 1, $310k after year 5, $1.15M after year 20, $4.8M by year 30... and that's with only DRIP and not adding any $$$ to it. ( I drive a 26 year old car)
