Wow pretty good for 4 adults we only have 2 adults here and I’m allocating $200/week and being a bit tough with our snacks and some weeks we go over so your doing really well. Those markdowns really help your grocery budget. ❤ from Michelle in Brisbane

Our grocery budget is $620 a month for 2 people (but if that seems high please note we are in America & we have food allergies, food restrictions, and food intolerances due to autism & our genetic disorders).

Thanks for sharing I thought your food in general was cheaper than us so that's interesting to hear so really appreciate you sharing that. I never judge anyone else I think we all just have to live our lives if someone asks me for my opinion I'll give it or if they say they are struggling and don't understand and they show me a haul then I will give suggestions but sometimes there are things we do and buy to keep the peace LOL

@@FrugalFunMum for real 🤣👍💯 sometimes it is not worth the fall out (a meltdown or shutdown) so we buy the pricer name brand item or convenience food. I think what drives our cost up so much is that we have to pay crazy shipping rates. We have to order alot of our allergy friendly food from overseas because your allergy laws are stricter than ours so your food is safer (more transparent what’s in the facility and on shared lines). Like just this month I spent $48 to get cereal shipped from Australia & $55 to get oats from Canada 🤦‍♀️ plus the food is organic to begin with & that always drives the price up. (By the way I think it’s really sweet of you not to judge and hold back “advice” unless asked 🥰 makes you an amazing human. I’m so sick of hearing “you know what you should do” 🤣🤦‍♀️)

@@frugalautie our laws are strict while means we also can't get some products here I wasn't able to order some Nail Polishes as the glitter was not passed by the law here .. sigh ... and also one of the makeup pencil we had from Avon as it's USA created one ingredient was not okay so they said they would have to legally write 'poison' on it and they didn't feel that ethically that was very good so they discontinued it. Oh I totally get the avoidance of meltdowns I get a lot 'just shove it in a brand name pack they won't know' omg seriously ... they will know and then they won't trust you and then you've also eliminated another food

I went over budget this month ,in my defense a grocery store in my area was closing, everything was 50% off. Heck yeah i took advantage and bulked up shelf stable items. Im doing a low spend month for September so it will balance itself out.

This is so interesting seeing your total monthly spend! Does it include your Foodland purchases as well? (I think you only mentioned the Coles and Woolworths shops) I live in Brisbane and in our house there are 3 adults and 3 kids (6, 3, and 1 yr olds). My grocery budget I include personal care items (ie shampoo) and cleaning products (ie laundry powder) and toilet paper - just everything for the household basically. And our average monthly spend in May, June and July (I just added them all then divided by 3) was $1,156 per month. (Which is $192pp for the month) Kind of horrifying when I put it in writing. 4 weeks ago (so about the end of July) I started being way way more intentional, shopping at more places, etc, so I'm curious as to if it will make a difference for the August total. My husband does sometimes do some shopping; he does randomly stop in at the shops and buy things that I didn't plan for, so that adds on, but I have to just expect that as it's his normal thing to do!

Omg, I'm in that position this month... so many offers from Woolies and Coles and that's without going to the discount grocery store 😂

$50 per head but I have to cook most things from scratch due to food/preservative intolerances. I'm doing a sourdough class this weekend because store brought stuff is so expensive & having fresh bread on the weekend would be great.
