You make me realize the importance of money management. I never wanted to seem like the “cheap” person but it’s very important to figure out how and where your money is going. I’m excited to update my spreadsheet I made.

Zoe I’m so happy for you!! I’m so glad this method is working out for you. I prefer the longer, all-in-one videos ☺️ one thing that I do each month when setting my budget is doing a look ahead: are there any events, birthdays, travel, etc. coming up in the month? I find that this helps me to be realistic with each of my budget categories, like if I’m traveling I’ll need more coffee/eating out and less grocery money!

Regarding the "you deserve it" mentality. I have it re-written in my finance journal as "you deserve to be financially free and have peace of mind (more)" ☺️ This helps shift from the deprivation mindset to a more motivational mindset for me. Thanks for your transparency in your videos! I love the editing as well. Oh, and you might really enjoy the chanel The Budget Mom for all her cash envelope videos and resources. ~Cheers

Whether you do something like cash envelopes or more digital like using YNAB, I think it is so important to work towards getting a month ahead and using the money you earn in October to pay bills and other spending in November versus using what you earn in October to pay for October bills. Another perk to this is that you are always only budgeting money you have and not budgeting money you project you will get. It causes so much less anxiety and is essentially an extra month buffer for your emergency fund.

I would say you could definitely split this into two videos. I love going in depth with the spending and the plan for next month. Another thing to watch out for is once those hello fresh credits run out. Those boxes get very expensive for what they are and got me in quite a money whole a few months back... but also understand if your pushing for a sponsorship because I know they do that a lot on youtube and honestly if they do I say go for it!

Hi Zoe! I haven’t seen the video yet, but I had eye eczema for 8 years, and I’ve been “cured” for 6 months now using La Roche Posay Lipikar Eczema Med cream and avoiding products with “Panthenol” (it seems to be my allergy! Took me years to find out!) You’ll need to check yours. For eyes eczema, it can be nails products, any makeup product, etc. but the cream helps a lot with itching and redness. Please be careful with it, my eyes are now recovering from the darkness and wrinkles it caused. (I’ll continue the video now, thanks Zoe!)

What you could also do as well is withdraw the full month's worth of cash, but only stuff your envelopes weekly with a weekly amount! I started doing that because I was way to nervous about carrying all that cash with me - mainly because I lose my wallet all the time.

Hey Zoe! I would recommend setting up a sinking fund for Maggie to save some money for her (instead of the monthly envelope) where you add 50 $ (Or More) per month so you are able to pay the sitter, the Food and maybe the vet, since you will have months with no expences but also with huge bills. ;)

I enjoyed the format of this video because we get a sense of the whole monthly money update from last month looking into the next. Zoe I'm so glad you found something that worked for you!! I recently watched a really interesting video on Saving vs. Budgeting by Hello Catwalk City and it may interest you too. Basically, her money philosophy is focusing on the goals 1 month ahead: Pay yourself first (savings/investments), Pay essential bills second, and spend what's leftover freely. I've been implementing it myself and it's working a lot better than budgeting for me because of the psychological shift, it's all mental but mentality makes a lot of difference!

I probably have missed it - could you explain again how it works if you have to pay something with credit (e.g. online purchases)? I dont really get it :D Thanks!!
@ZoePritchard2 жыл бұрын
Yes! So if I pay something on credit (ex: the HelloFresh, $10) I right away take it from that cash envelope (so Groceries -$10) and put it in the new "Spent on Credit" envelope. At the end of the month I deposit that money to the bank (I took it to the teller and she put it right on my credit card). Let me know if you have other questions 😇
@Isabella-de7kv2 жыл бұрын
@@ZoePritchard aaah I see - that's probably why I didn't get it, because where I come from/with my specific bank account you can't really deposit cash to your bank account (for some stupid reason I will never understand). If I were to try this method, I would probably have to have at least a certain amount of money in my bank account to spend on credit. Not ideal :D
@droid2D2C3P02 жыл бұрын
@@Isabella-de7kv wait what haha what would you do if you had copious amounts of cash then?? My roommate is a bartender and can bring home a couple thousand dollars in tips every other month, would you just have to stuff that all under your mattress? Lol

@@Stephanie-ki5oz from the cash category it fits into.. if she spent 50$ on credit on a flight she'd pull 50$ cash from the travel envelope and move it to the credit envelope for example. The idea is only to spend credit on things you already have a cash category for
