Just an FYI.. you said you wouldn't be paying that much interest because you would only be paying on the car for 3 months. This seems silly. If paying with your money makes you happy or proud to be able to do that then you should. Or if your money is earning less than what they are charging to use their money. If your money is working harder for you than they are charging to use theirs, then financing makes sense. If you get 10% and they charge 5% you're still coming out 5% ahead. If you get 20% and they get 10% you're 10 ahead. If you don't care either way than do what makes you happy.

Yes, I put a ton of $$ on the building but that $$ came from a RE investment that I sold via a 1031 Exchange (tax deferred capital gains and depreciation recapture). The idea here is hold off on the toys for a bit while you put your hard earned $$ to work for a couple of years. The rewards can be pretty sweet and it really isn't all that hard (!). Even if its a balloon program its amortized for 60 months full term. After 60 months, you must payoff balance or refinance the terms. This program allowed you to have a lower rate.
@MiamiMark Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the video, that is a beautiful car. The key to this video would have been to tell us how much money you owe when the balloon becomes due and if there is a penalty for prepaying on the 60 month note. If in theory you really paid $60k down and you pay $267k for the full term of the loan, you've $327k for the $420k sticker price. The reason you probably don't tell your viewers how much the balloon and/or prepayment penalty is because they would be scratching their heads as to why you paid so much over sticker for this car. My guess is you have pay $250k or more when the ballon becomes due. At that rate, you're paying about $580k (plus tax which is probably over $60k) and likely paying waaaaaaay over $600k for a $420k car. Not sure how that is a fiscal win. Better yet, prove me wrong and tell us. Also, please make a follow-up video and tell us how much one could expect to pay for maintenance costs for this car. 😱😱😱😱😱😱 There's a reason why most of these cars for sale have such low miles. Enjoy your new ride.
@WillMotivation Жыл бұрын
I mentioned the the balance was due, whatever that is after the 74 months. The reason I did not focus or even remember that number is becuase I have ZERO plans to keep this loan longer than 2 or 3 months. I'd refinance it before I would keep it. It's a bad loan if you were to keep it to full term for sure, no argument from me on that as I said in the video. As for the maintenance costs, the car has 7 years of free maintenance from Ferrari, so that would be a $0.00 cost :)

Comparison between the Hellcat and the Ferrari: everyday livability 1) sound level at 80 mph highway cruising : how loud is tire noise 2) steering effort inside parking lots? 3) smoothness in steering, suspension, and brakes???
@WillMotivationАй бұрын
I would give all of those to the Ferrari but not by much

If you claim at least 50% business use, you can take accelerated bonus depreciation in the first year (2023) and depreciate the remaining over the useful life. However, starting at a FMV of $422K means you’ll be depreciating until you retire. Thnx for sharing.

I own four super cars and did a loan only when the rate was low...because I could invest my money in other stuff at a higher rate. My car that arrives tomorrow is $310K, but I'm paying cash because rates are super high right now...even with excellent credit.

Genuine question: If you're required to buy or sell the car after 60 months, is that not the same as a lease?
@WillMotivation Жыл бұрын
Not technically no. It’s a loans with a balloon payment as the last payment

Good for you man, now did you get problem buying your 1st Ferrari? I heard Ferrari won't sell a new car to 1st time Ferrari owner, true? it's recommended to get a used one, drive it for a while, then go and buy a new one. How did you go for you?

I'm in the $10M+ club and I am nowhere near able to buy a $400k car 😂. My $2.5M 8,000 sq/ft house is paid off. If you have less than $40M in assets, you're a fuh 🤴 fool if you spend $400k on a car

One guy was complaining that if it didn't have bufferfly doors, it ain 't worth it. What he didn't realise is that with those doors, comes alot of problems, very expensive problems. They look fine on other cars, Ferrari said why make a problem where there isn't one.
@lashaehitchens2259 Жыл бұрын
U should never put down a down payment on the vehicle because it really doesn't change the amount of your payment. The last 2 vehicles I bought I didn't put a down payment even after the salesman was asking for atlease 20 thousand dollars down. My interest rate was a little higher at 5.9%, but that 20 never left my bank. And I still negotiated the price.
@truckerkevthepaidtourist Жыл бұрын
But the other important question.. Your monthly payment how much is insurance taken out. That's got to be a big good pretty penny on top of that too for that ride

So essentially, you have made a terrible financial decision. You have not purchased a Ferrari, you have leased a Ferrari, which, as everyone knows, is only a good deal for the dealers. Judging by the home in the background of the neighborhood, (If you were in my area of the country) the Ferrari cost almost as much as the homes there. Cars are generally never good investments. They are depreciating assets. Paying over $4,450.00 per month just to have see you in a car that you don't own is a complete and total waste of money. That's $270,000.00 at the end of your lease and you still do not own car and still owe almost that much on it, still, with only two options to either sell it or buy it. A far more intelligent investment would be to (DCA) "dollar-cost-average" that same amount of money into a portfolio of well-diversified aggressive-growth mutual funds for the same 5 year period of time. Even if you did add anything else to it after the fifth year, by the 10th, 15, 20th years, left in the same mix of mutual funds you would easily be in the 7-figure range in your portfolio balance. However, if you did continue the monthly "DCA" investments into the portfolio, you would have a balance by year 20, from which, you could draw out a mere 3% annually, which, would equate to a significant 6-figure annual income, or well more than $4,500.00 per month, more like $12, 500.00 per month or more... .i.e. living off the interest of your money. Moreover, your portfolio balance is continuing to grow and the 3% annually you draw out becomes a larger amount as your balance grows, therefore, your income is more. Just a different school-of-thought... the truly wealthy did get there by buying luxury toys and exotic cars, boats, etc. before they could actually afford them. They became wealthy by getting up early, (Everyday) working hard (Everyday) working late (Everyday) sacrificing (Everyday) being the first to arrive and last to leave (Everyday) AND making intelligent, well advised, commonsense financial decisions, each time, every time, without wavering and failing.

How do you not know your payment or term before making the video? Were you on your way to the grocery store with a camera and your financial statement and spontaneously decided to make a video when you got to the driveway? What’s the interest rate? What’s your credit score? You really didn’t explain what the balloon payment was in much detail. You also said to “put as much down as you can to get the payment low” but admitted you put only $60K down on a $400K car. That didn’t really make the payment low, I get you are paying it off but your advice should match the example in the video.
