inside and out....you have a beautiful garden.....some great looking vegetables to harvest soon....30yrs ago we started purple coneflowers from seed and still have them in the garden....they winter over very well, .....in the fall the bright yellow goldfinches feed on the seeds heads we leave.....a beautiful video.....thanks for the tour.

Hi! Thank you so much!!! For some reason, last year, I couldn't find the classic coneflower (purple) anywhere so I had to use seed. I got a few leaves last year but this year they are really coming in and I have my first bloom now too! I've loved them since I was a kid. For me, nothing says summer like a grouping of purple coneflower. I lived in the midwest in my early life, and they were everywhere...so beautiful. When we lived in SoCal for 15 years, I could never get them going. I think it was a lack of sun on my property. So happy to be able to have them again here in Colorado. Watching the goldfinches on the plants in the Fall is extra special :). Thank you so much again!!!!

Hooray🎉Bravo🎉on flowering the Patella Pink Hoya. I am skeptical that I could ever grow Patella. My Hoya macgiilivrayi is a beast and is growing from every node. I had my doubts on this one, but not anymore. What surprised me about Macgillivray is that it grew a 4 foot vine from a tiny two leaf cutting in a tiny 2 inch square pot. Miraculous! But, I saw your Syngonium wendlandii which I love. My Wendlandii was beautiful and then one day it got root rot and died quickly. I am afraid to try that one again. Thanks for the plant updates and the yard tour.

Hi, Paul! Wendlandii has never been a vigorous grower for me, now that I think of it. I wonder why???Holy crap LOL....I've never heard of Hoya macgiilvrayi before!!!! It looks so much like the patella pink but different flower colors. Now I might need to get one of those too...especially after your description of your success with it...wow!!!! I need one LOL. Thanks for sharing that with me and introducing me to another awesome species!!!! You are a great resource for learning what I want to add next to my collection. Thank you for that :).

Hi Nicole!!! The fruit trees are doing great!!! I skipped over them this update but they are getting pretty big. Also the blueberries and raspberries have been producing fruit. We've been eating a lot of raspberries already...the blueberries aren't ready yet. I LOVE hydrangeas! If I had more space with just morning sun I'd totally put one in. I'm sure you are enjoying them so much, they are so pretty and the colors are beautiful. So glad you enjoyed the video!!!! Thanks so much!!!!

Hi Gena. Thanks for mentioning the lipstick plant propagation problems I was experiencing and ill be looking outfor a care guide on that plant. I'm determined to have another go at growing one if I can get my hands on a mature plant again. Your outdoor garden is looking fabulous, I love to see all the different flowers you have growing and that should certainly bring the pollinators to the vegetables. Thanks for sharing your interesting updates this month.

I think the leafless nodes are called wet sticks. Do you ever watch Sydney Plant Guy? For the next time that something like what happened to your silver sword, he shows how to divide a large plant like that that is on a moss pole, without having to cut down to bits and starting over. In his case the plant had grown to the ceiling, so he had to divide it. As for your Hoya, I have the same situation going on with a different type and I think it was root failure. It is frustrating because it's not always obvious when it happens nor what causes it. Beautiful garden.
@ThePinkTrellis
@ThePinkTrellis Ай бұрын
Hi! I’m aware of his channel but I don’t watch it. Yes wet sticks but when they are chunks/fatties I think they are called “chonks” but I really don’t know lol 😂. Unfortunately my silver sword was not attached to a moss pole. I just had a flimsy bamboo stick holding it up. Yeah the mystery plant fails can be very frustrating. Most likely I let that one get too dry and ended up with dry rot…story of my Hoya life lol. Happens every year for me with a plant or two. Thank you!!!! 💚💚💚

So many wonderful things to comment on we are both just so impressed with the butterfly garden and butterfly bush and all the flowers along the fence I would like to recommend putting a brick in the bottom of the pot that you put the top cutting of your silver sword in give the pot weight so it doesn't tip over as easy we both would have chosen the begonia but I don't think we've watched that video yet I am so sorry we are so far behind on all of our video watching I had an accident at the beginning of June and it has upset every cart getting better all the time so hopefully we can get caught up that escargot in your short cabinet is simply gorgeous I love it😊😊😊

Hi Lynn!!! Happy to see your comment here. I’ve missed you!!! Glad you’re getting better every day 🥰. I definitely will consider doing something like that with the brick and also maybe a different pot that is more stable. It was in a stand with legs so there wasn’t a lot of stability. Also adding a more substantial pole would help too. Thank you so much for checking in….lots of love to you 💕💕💕.

It happens a lot in my experience. Indoor situation is not the same as being out in the wild in nature. I think it's inevitable that eventually you will have to start over with plants. But it's so easy to do...and fun if you ask me. Nothing wrong with cutting a plant down and starting over again, in my opinion :).

just found on the Black Pagoda it took a long time for the cuttings to root. Well I was moving mine to a larger pot and snapped a vine off so will see if this time it takes so long. I do remember the first cuttings arrived late September. Might have had something to do with long rooting time. I did root them in water. Your yard looks so pretty. I wish my yard was smaller. Seems I just get around it with weeding and by the time I start all over again they have regrown 3 feet tall.

I figured it would be a slow rooter....just a gut feeling. That's so strange too because the thai pink roots so fast! Let me know how it goes this time for you. Thanks!!! I do like having a smaller more manageable yard. Only thing I hate is I still have to deal with weeds. I just refuse to use chemicals for something like that. Don't want it getting into the garden or the fruit trees. You could use a yard crew for your large outdoor spaces!!!!

@@ThePinkTrellismy black pagoda takes a while to root too! I root it often for the plant swap where I live and it usually takes me two months are so it get it ready to pot up and bring to the swap. I am trying to get the leaves to grow a new plant currently (I had a few fall off, they have rooted, just know new growth)

@@ThePinkTrellis Hahaha Fat chance I could get some one to come even if I could afford it. Now a days the guy that does my mower tune up charges 50 an hour and 35 for tree trimming. I did pay to get my driveway sprayed. The rest of the yard weeds I have been doing all by shovel and pull. I have no fruit trees . Even so I have the dogs and I do not want them to get into it. I do have the pest control come spray for wasps. It seems to be helping. So far there have been no more swarms like the last few years. I have only been stung twice so far.

My hoya Kroniana super silver is doing the same thing! I neglected it for a while, finally watered it then I repotted it ( it was still in nursery pot 😅). Now it’s plumped up a lot of its leaves but there are still wrinkly leaves so that stinks. It’s a decent sized plant too that blooms all the time. I’m bummed but, I’m still hoping it will plump those wrinkly leaves back up eventually.
@ThePinkTrellis

Hopefully it's just a part of your plant that got some dry rot. That's good that most of the plant is ok. You may want to unpot it and remove the bad part. Or you can ignore it like I usually do LOL. I suppose the right thing to do is take it out, remove the soil and remove the bad roots and then dip the remaining roots in hydrogen peroxide to stop any bacteria from spreading. I tend to do the wait and see approach and end up having to do the work in the end :). Good luck with your plant!!!!

Hi :) my syngonium frost did the exact same thing no idea why? Mine was in a huge pot as it was on a pole in big pot when I bought it, Roots n such were good, I did chop n prop but they aren’t doing the best. Maybe I should do chonks with long stem? Keep us posted as to how chonks root :) Have a great week!❤

Oh how frustrating! I'll let you know how things go. The top cut has started rooting, not surprisingly....they grow so fast!
