Hi Lezlie... I live when an author is so intricate with details that you can be transported to experience sights, sounds, smells, and tastes. Thank you for the recap. ~Ali 🎀🏰💖

I'm a HUGE fan of Lumley's Necroscope series! I started it about 20 years ago and got through maybe 5-6 books, really enjoyed them. I have just picked Necroscope back up and enjoyed it a second time, I plan to reread and finish the series this time around. Glad to meet another fan.

I just finished the second one - and laughed at myself for never knowing it was a sort of Dracula retelling until this time around. (I finally read Dracula last year for the first time, lol)

@@TheNerdyNarrative Oh my, I didn't realize that. I'll have to reread Dracula now, it's been so long I don't remember much of the story.

Hearing you gush about DCC never gets old, I love how much joy that series brings you! And I can't wait to read A Betrayal of Storms, though I might wait until book 3 is about to drop so I can binge! My faves of October were 11/22/63, books 2 & 3 in Nightmareland Chronicles, and The Lost Metal! It was a great month hehe

I have *GOT* to make room for 11/22/63!!! I only read King's horror previously, I never learned he wrote crime thrillers until about 5 years ago, lol! Great reading month for the Twins!!!

Nice wrap up. My favorite book in October was a poetry book. I can't believe it. Anyway, it's a poetry book about a Catholic saint (and I'm not even Catholic!). It's called This Transfigured Chapel of the Threads by Sarah Law.

Fun fact: I was not born or raised Catholic, but I used to love to go to Mass. I always thought Catholic churches and services were so beautiful and more reverent. I was an odd child...I would go to church with whatever friend I could go with, so I visited almost every denomination and just cycled through according to who I could tag along with.

I have a few books I'm working on for November. Going through DCC 1-6 on Audible and reading This Inevitable Ruin (book 7 of DCC). Slowly working through Stormlight (on book 2 now) for the drop of book 5 in December. And, I'm also looking for a new series to start. Thinking of going with either Codex Alara or maybe Farseer. Any advice? Also, recently, I listened to the full Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. Waiting for a release date to be dropped before I finish Dresden. Still on Peace Talks and then Battle Ground.

Hmmmm. Codex Alera is 6 books and Farseer is only 3, unless you decide to keep going through all the trilogies of Realm of the Elderlings. (The Liveship Traders is SO GOOD) That's a tough choice!! Maybe neither and give The Fetch Phillips Archive a whirl. LOL I'm waiting on that next Dresden release date as well. I've reread all of them, and the shorts stories and graphic novels - but I stopped when I got to Peace Talks. Gonna wait on it, BG and The Law rereads until we get that date. I am LOVING This Inevitable Ruin!!! I'm about to read a few more chapters before turning in for the night. :D Words of Radiance is such a great one - I laughed so much at Shallan! Such a delight.

I read several Forgotten Realms books when I was younger. The Drizzt series is amazing. The book that got me into fantasy was a book by Christopher Stasheff called Her Majesty’s Wizard. Pretty cool stand alone book that turned into book 1 of a series. I noticed the Disney shirt in this video. Am I right in assuming that you’re a Disney fan? I used to work at Disneyland back in the early 2000’s.

I was a Disney fan. They got way too greedy for my tastes. They've always been a little overpriced, but now they're not only skyrocketed the prices with regular increases throughout the year, they still have brought back all of the guest experiences they had prior to the the lockdown. We were annual passholders here in Orlando (I live 5 miles from Magic Kingdom), but since they were raising prices 3-4 times a year, took away all of the perks except parking AND we still had to make reservations, we cancelled and just used the money we budgeted for the passes to buy season tickets to the Orlando Magic instead. Much better investment. :D
