Earth Day = dressing up for the occasion , I like it! A couple mentions: I bought the pen that you aways use in your videos (but in banana yellow for obvious reasons 😉) and I adore it. It use it at work all day (I’m in healthcare) and it’s that little something during the day that forces me to really focus on each item that I write. Which is great because I’m noting medical codes or verifying a birthdate when I work on patients. Important stuff that I cannot get wrong! Lol. Also “Lilikoi Hawaii” had a video a few years ago detailing how she cleans her mensural cup and I learned from her that you can let it rest in a jar with hydrogen peroxide for a couple of days then give it a quick wash, plop it back in its bag and it’s ready for the next month. ✅. Thx for another great video! (Interesting books selections btw 👍)

Just started the video and I'm sure I'll have more thoughts but first, that dress!?!?!? Stunning! Edit: I highly recommend Clue for period tracking. I've been using it for years and it definitely helps me be more in tune with my cycle because I can track more than just bleeding so I can see when in the month I have acne, discharge, digestion issues, etc.

Tip worth sharing: timers on your outlets/powerstrips 😁 Your devices don’t need to be charging overnight, the entire night. I just set mine for 3-6 hours, depending on how much I used it throughout the day. Chargers also continually drain energy even when they’re not attached to a device. My husband didn’t believe that last bit until we plugged it into a voltage reader

Hi Immy! I’m from the Philippines. Happy Earth Day! 🌏Thank your for making these videos. Sadly yes, we really experience the drastic effects of climate change. I signed up for the goclimate offset with your link. It seemed a good thing to do for Earth Day. I ended up producing 49% of an average American but it was still so much! But the complete offset was fairly inexpensive and the projects look good. I have solar panels and produce 100% of my household electricity over a year (we feed it back into the grid, but I keep track), garden, have a decent diet (not vegan, but mostly local and mostly unprocessed locally grown) but I have a terrible long commute in a private gas car.

I saw comments about Flo period app. It's an app from Belarusian creators. When Belarusian protests started last summer and people got hurt by police, women became main power of protests and Flo gave free access to the app for Belarusian women. They are amazing. I am Belarusian too, but live in Russia and have Russian phone number and money card, but I did switch my period app to the Flo because of their support. And police came to their office in Minsk and threatened them because of their support of Belarusian women. This is definitely example when you vote with your money. IT sector in Belarus received a lot of damage from government for active support of peaceful protests. A lot of people got hurt badly and arrested and tortured.

Yes... for sure... I agree 💯. I’m a high school sewing teacher from 🇨🇦, and I always recommend “Repair What You Wear” when people ask for an online resource. The instructors are seasoned pros... they really know their stuff and they are very encouraging. What I like best about them is that they are not intimidating to beginners. They keep it simple and offer the basics. Also, they teach mending/repairing by hand, which is feasible and practical for most people 🧵🪡. Great recommendation Mistri! Happy Earth Day to you 🌎😃🌿🌸

What do you suggest on how to be sustainable, with the care of pillows? Since it’s usually suggested to change our pillows. While on subject, what about mattresses?
@debbiecrochiere21823 жыл бұрын
Hi Arleth , What I do with my pillows is periodically I spray them with vinegar water and throw them in the dryer for half hour or so. I feel as though that freshens them up and kills dust mites. If you don’t have a dryer you can spray with vinegar water and set them in the sunlight that to will kill dust mites. For our mattress, I encased it in a mattress cover to prevent dust mites from getting in. I periodically wash it but in between on sheet changing day I spray the mattress with vinegar water and let it air dry then I vacuum the top of the mattress before putting fresh sheets on. Also it’s good to turn your blankets down every day to air out your mattress before making you bed. I do all this because my husband has allergies and it helps. Hope you find this helpful.

Hey Immy, great video. Ive been enjoying this series. Just wanted to drop a line out there about cycle tracking apps. Ive tried several and the one I like best is Clue. I use the free version but there is a paid one too. Its easy, straightforward, doesnt put fertility as the central focus, and is pretty customizable. Its freaky accurate for period predictions. I also sort of like Eve but it has a lot of ads and less ability to cuatomize.

Hi Immy! I really like your videos and this is no exception, but that tip about washing your underwear in cold water is something you maybe could reevaluate. As someone who frequently goes to the gynecologist, I have very often been told to wash my underwear as hot as I can in order to prevent bacterial and yeast infections. Otherwise they can become a breeding ground for bacteria. Anyways, happy late earth day :)

Interesting.point re handwashing. I don't have a washing machine or access to laundrette especially during lockdowns. I have been forced to handwash all my items and I have found with underwear especially pants even good quality items have tended to wear holes in way quicker than I would have liked and so items last shorter than they would if placed in a washing machine - which is probably a lower temperature (always washed at 30 since thats what my mother always did) and much less friction caused by scrubbing. Know how you feel about replacing those large items.. we lived years without a fridge and still don't have a washing machine due to the high cost..sad to see you had those issues over the pandemic.. we had to go months without use of a shower or water in the bathroom due to a rat damaging our pipes so know the hell of inconvenience

Hi Immy. Thank you for another inspiring video. Just a quick message to check if you've looked at Fair Finance guide. We recently switched banks and I think that this is something really worthwhile for those who have opportunity. The whole process about interest, who the bank lends money to and so forth is just so different and inspiring. This is a change that once you've made it, really makes a difference for many years. Our Swedish bank is called Ekobanken and I really recommend it.
