Best thing to do young people is to stay in your lane. If you're making 30k a year you shouldn't be driving a 60k car and you got rent, kids and other bills. CU gave me 50K pre loan with 3% interest and 84 months. Car was priced at 52msrp and I managed to haggle it down to 45K. Dealer wanted to beat CU and best they could do was 6% interest. 100% true get your life balanced first. Live through it for a few years and see how well you can manage your life and savings. If everything is good and you can afford a scat pack for example without being drowned then go for it. For me my rule is if you’re going to finance then make sure you can in a worst case buy it in cash. So $200k car make sure you have $200k+ in the bank if you are putting $50k down for example. The down payment is excluded. I’m 22 as well. It’s important to live life smart and learn to invest while you are young because as you get older with the other responsibilities life will through it might be too complicated and you’ll just let the 401k do it’s thing. For example in crypto… there’s opportunities right now to make entire 401k portfolios within 10 years. Instead people would rather drop the money on a car now that’ll depreciate and they have regrets later.

A house cost more than a car🤔
@Yinyang12772 жыл бұрын
@@brandonm5394 yes, but it also appreciates in value over time and is generally speaking a very stable investment. Not to mention you can live in it, cook, watch tv, do work, have kids, etc… A car not only breaks down, but depreciates in value heavily. The more miles the less valuable even though it’ll still depreciate unless it’s limited or special, which lol a scat is far from. When you get a house you can still work on saving money to then get a scat or a loan on one. If you just get a loan on a car then a bank can clearly see how dumb you are with your priorities. It’s one thing to get a car to get from point a to point b. It’s another when you buy a scat pack to do the same thing and you need to finance it… get your priorities right man…

If you are able the least amount you should put down should be 20% but the more you put down the less your payments will be also make sure your credit is in good shape that way you get a good interest rate and more of your payments will go to the car ant not be ate up by interest. Also wanted to add that on average every thousand dollars you put down is 20 dollars or so off of your car note
@SRTBOAT2 жыл бұрын
Do what I did. You have 9k. Buy an older SRT in cash and throw a blower on it. Make 500whp and outrun all these newer cars. Buy a car in cash, and use the excess income you save to build up another $9,000. Use that excess income to buy a house or mods for your car. Either or. You have WAY more options when you don't have a car note.

100% agree. 1k for 72 months is a longggg time. I'm all for treating yourself but always try to buy straight up cash. Payments are a modern way to enslave people. Especially with cars which are probably the worst investment ever seeing as how they depreciate like crazy every year. Not judging, just don't want others to go through the bullshit I had to learn the hard way growing up.

This is inspiring. I just bought my Toyota Rav4 in February 2022. Haha. Financed of course. Literally regretted it for the longest time up until maybe like 2 weeks ago. 🤣 Took it to Carvana, Car Max and back to Toyota to sell it back to them. But i had an epiphany, you made your bed now lay in it. Finally just stuck with my decision. Loll. But 6.78% APR i think. Got a $43k loan, but the car only cost $34k base. I was so upset. Like why did i do this to myself? But I already paid down $4k dollars on it. I’m paying it off in 3 years instead of the 6 years they said it would take 72 months. And monthly payment is $707, but I’m paying $1007 to pay it off in 3 years. I don’t have kids and I’m in Engineer so I’m not too concerned. Proud that I could get my dream car at 24 years old. But i will never finance a car again in my life. This is it for me. 🤣❤️ thanks for sharing.

From full amount, to cash down, to monthly payment, amount of months, interest rate, what your credit was when you applied, insurance, gas, maintenance…. & maybe add if you rent or own your place of living…. That would be pretty cool, I might make that video the only thing is I sold my scatpack so the car won’t be in the video
@simons81752 жыл бұрын
For me, i always liked the 2014 srt chager models. In 2016 my friends dad had a scatpack, I fell in love & knew I wanted that car. I drove my old Honda while saving my money, my ins on that was like $78 a month… bought my scat at 21 or 22yrs old, (feb 2020) sold it sept 2021.. I had a credit score if 763 started my credit in 2016 with a credit card at credit union…. Car was $38k with sunroof & suede seats…42-43k total out door, I put $0 down, for 72 months financing, monthly payment was $590. My insurance was $260 a month, gas filled up 1-2 times a week at $60-70 each, 2 rear tires replaced about $650, oil changes were about $120… can’t think of anything else rn, mods are not included. I sold it to Carmax for $50k @ 29k miles on clock. Just FYI for anyone looking for info

Just get a Benz E55 AMG instead. Make sure it’s maintained. For around $12,000, you can have a 479hp SOHC supercharged V8 sedan that’s better than a hellcat in so many ways, and more reliable than anything Chrysler makes. Very easy to tune to 600hp. Hellcat’s aren’t all that and don’t bring anything new to the table. All hype. Mercedes knew what they were doing in 2003.
@ls3_urmom2 жыл бұрын
some of the dumbest shit ive ever read no cap. Chrysler and Mercedes were the same company in 2003, an e55 amg is not reliable and the reason you can get them for so cheap is because people know how much they cost to maintain. not to mention parts being extremely expensive and hard to find.

They didn't require downpayment due to my credit but I dropped $6k to lower the payments. I knew whatever payment I end up with, will be payment for the life of the loan because refinancing later will make me lose my 0% rate. My car came up to $62k after taxes then deducted $2k in rebates. I'm paying $760 a month, and thats including GAP.
