Here you will see an "everybody goes" response from the SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal)'s Station 55, located in the Pointe-Claire district of Montréal, QC, which includes Chief of Operations 132, Engine 255M, Ladder 455 and Rescue 555 along with acting spare Nautical Rescue 1881 The driver of Rescue 555 even gives me a wave!
*An "everybody goes" response signifies that an entire fire station responds to a call one after the other.

Love it when the boats go out! They're cool units to see. Unfortunately water incidents can be nasty though, but they do get a lot of response from emergency services to save the day ;)

+CobraEmergencyVideos Definitely! And because Montréal is an island surrounded by several rivers, we have to have it down pat! Thanks!
@CobraEmergency
@CobraEmergency 8 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Whereas here there's one large river through the centre of the county with a few tributaries - but during flooding season large parts of lowland flood plains near the river get submerged, problem is A) people drive into the water and get stuck, B) people play in the water getting into difficulty and C) people's homes that are (theoretically illegally) built on flood plains get flooded.

Definitely. Seen them training during flooding in poor weather too - they left a firefighter on the ledge of a bridge then went back out to then move back in and rescue him lol

Well if there is a boat then we know it's a water rescue of some sort! Someone probably was drunk and jumped into the water

+Creature Claw The thing is that in Montréal, the police department switch to an encrypted system last year and the fire department is soon to follow its its footsteps, so there's really no point in buying one, unfortunately. Good suggestion anyways, I would have loved to use one!

Hey sorry this may be stupid but why do have the pumping controls covered is it so they can work the controls in warmth? I'm in US our truck don't ever have that
@MTL911EmergencyPhotography
@MTL911EmergencyPhotography 7 жыл бұрын
+Randomized Well, I'd imagine it would be because they wouldn't want the controls to freeze over in the winter, what with all the snow and ice we get here. I'm not sure where in the US you live, but it's likely your department doesn't have to deal with environments as extreme in the cold seasons.
@randomized4266
@randomized4266 7 жыл бұрын
Rian McDonald yeah I live in New Jersey here our winters aren't even that cold. Also all along the east coast we don't have covered controls..
@MTL911EmergencyPhotography
@MTL911EmergencyPhotography 7 жыл бұрын
+Randomized It might actually just be the type of fire truck, then. Maybe E-Ones come with them covered... thinking of it, I think our new Spartan pumpers have the controls uncovered. 😕
@gregw3
@gregw3 6 жыл бұрын
Umm, actually they do. There are many departments that have engines with enclosed pump panels. So yes, our Engines in the U.S. do have them.

What is the "M" designation on the pumper for?
@MTL911EmergencyPhotography
@MTL911EmergencyPhotography 7 жыл бұрын
+EyeWatchThemAll The "M" stands for "Mousse" which is the French word for foam. All pumpers with an M at the end of their unit number are foam trucks.

Too bad you talked into your own video. Better give these information later in written form and keep quiet while taping. It's like when someone starts talking in the cinema you know.

+coswiger Excuse me? I will do as I please, and it is not your concern to tell me that it is "too bad" when I talk while recording. To give you some information, this video was taken several months ago, before I started filming more professionally. I am making efforts to improve the quality of my content, but meanwhile there will be some videos published that are a little rough around the edges. Cheers!

Rian McDonald No need to feel offended so quickly, man! I've written my opinion and I'm free to do so as well, even if you don't like it. And I think every educated human should be able to accept others' opinions, right? No matter if you take a hint from it or not. But it's good to know that you try to be more "professional" as this means avoiding noises as well. I was never a fan of comment from the off if not needed (like in a response video) - it's about the units itself. Extra information is never bad but could be brought via text overlay e. g. Just an idea of course. ;-)
