That logo is incredibly ugly, and frankly with that disrespect to the fanbase, now is the time to strike while the Iron is hot and drop an alternative CanPL club there now.

While the name "Impact" and the accompanying logo were nothing special, there was almost 30 years of history attached to it, and for management to throw it away with 0 input from fans is extremely disingenuous and insulting.

I used to watch the Impact back in the A-League. It has great history with the city. The name is older than the MLS. CF Montreal is a awful name. And the logo is horrible. Go back to the Impact. It sounds like that’s what the fans want. A unnecessary rebranding.

The previous logo was too “busy”, hence why they changed it to a cleaner look, but fans should’ve been consulted before they went ahead. Soccer belongs to the fans, not the people in the boardroom.

The logo and rebrand are a complete flop and they should revert to what worked and leave well enough alone. Tfc, vwfc, and the impact all have solid logos and this new change looks silly

If you don't speak French, it can be hard to understand just how bad Club de Foot is. Obviously it sounds like Clubbed Foot in English, which is reason enough not to go with it, but it's cutesy and demeaning. I hate the logo and colours too, but the name really is the worst part for me. Even if they were called Club de Football, that wouldn't work. In Quebec, it's called soccer. Football association is a way to get around calling it soccer if they insist but I personally think teams in North America should have real names instead of mimicking European teams.

Joey Saputo bankrupted the Impact name and brand and was forced to rebrand in order to keep the team. Issue is, like it was mentioned, is that the fans were not consulted as they should've been. Further proof however, that Saputo is just another rich owner who cares more about the bottom dollar rather than the fans' feelings.

I don’t agree about Piatti nor should we fill the DP slots for the sake of it. If a stard should come though, I believe it would be a Summer signing. First and foremost, the club has to break that radio silence to explain the real reasons behind this rebranding and lend the supporters an ear in order to come to a common agreement. You can’t take your most loyal fans for granted like this. The club owners’ misplaced pride will be its demise...

In this era with so many teams having to change their name due to controversial reasons, or political, it was so easy to just do nothing and continue to not hurt anyone's feelings. But they choose to rebrand anyways and it created controversy cause there was no reason to change to name... LOL I'm pretty sure lots of people with still call the team Impact, show to the games with old jerseys/merch and sing impact chants forever.
@mickser1013 жыл бұрын
Firstly, Impact was a terrible name to start with but after 10 years they decide to change the name which everybody has gotten used to, big mistake. The new logo is beyond embarrassing, a Snowflake? my god who got paid to come up with that one. They should have called them Olympique Montreal and the logo had the Fleur-de-lis with the cities coat of arms incorporated in it.

Even when Drogba was there and the stadium was sold out they were losing money... so what does that tell you? From what I read he’s paying way too much for the lease on the Olympic ground Stade Saputo is located on. But it also doesn’t help when you waste millions on players like Camacho, Urruti, etc. how could they be one of the clubs that spent the most money but with nothing to show for it and consistently not making the playoffs or getting results?

Soccer teams have the most boring, bland, and unoriginal names. Half the MLS franchises are named FC. During the 20th century, I don't think any pro soccer franchises in North America were named FC. They had their own identity. Now, they're all euro wannabees with Real FC Sporting City United.

@@Cofitube94 The difference is that Manchester United is one of the most Rich and famous Soccer Club in the World, they are much older then CF Montreal with their club in general. @@zaco21_ To us it's the same mentality. 29 years the team has been around in some capacity. Thats pretty much when soccer culture started in Quebec and Montreal. So it's not like youre dealing with a minor league team in a small town. There arent many clubs in MLS which have a hardcore supporters group like Ultras. If they werent consulted then it makes no sense
